I am looking for some first hand experience and/or opinions from people who have actually used Tria Orthopaedic Center or other sports medicine (or podiatrist) clinic.

Having some nagging running injuries since I started to more consistently ramp up my mileage to moderate/longer distances (for me at least), want to see somebody who has a lot of experience, will get to the root of the problems and not just treat the symptoms at hand. Been there for the treating the immediate symptoms but new ones are now cropping up so looking to figure it out the root of the issues instead of "throwing parts" at it. I didn't exactly have the best experience with HCMC sports clinic and a Physical Therapy place they recommended (but I didn't give that PT a long term chance so I probably shouldn't hold that against them).

I went to tria for pain in my calf/Achilles and also my shoulder when I dislocated it. The shoulder wasn't anything special other than the physical therapy. What really stood out to me was the doctor finding what the issue was with my calf. I wen't in and explained that I had tightening in my calf and achillies when I would sprint, run, or take sharp turns. He told me to lie on my stomach and he was going to press in a few places he thinks could be the problem.

He pressed high up on my calf, and low on my achillies asking if it hurt at all. I said no and then he said, I know exactly what the issue is. He told me to grab the table cause this is going to hurt (as I type this, I know how dirty it sounds). He moved my calf a little bit and pressed right where my calf meets my achillies. Oh man did that hurt. He told me that he could feel my calf separating from my achillies when he would push on it. Told me to fix it by doing some stretches a certain way. Before every game of softball, I do those stretches and thankfully it hasn't hurt since.

I went to Tria for a torn MCL, nice place, they gave me a brace and I was on my way. I don't really like doctors too much, the guy seemed annoyed that I tried to self diagnose, and then wouldn't tell me what he thought was causing my pain/knee popping out. At my 6 week check up he finally told me, it was a torn MCL, just like I thought. I would go back there though, they are very customer service oriented, despite d-bag doctors that you'll find most places.

I can't remember, sorry. It was 3-4 years ago. He was super helpful though and explained everything.

No big deal, I think it is the same guy listed on their website...there are only 3 doctors that come up when I click on "running" for the type of activity that I am having issues with. 2 female and 1 male doctor. I ended up going with the person who best fit my schedule instead of the guy you probably saw (he was also recommended to me on somewhere else too). Wasn't going to wait 3 weeks to get in since I am trying to prevent further injuries for a few events in June I am training for.
