So I've looked high and low for a wingless WRB trunk but they are impossible to find. I hate this huge wing now and need to change. Does anybody know if basic Imprezas were ever made in WRB and do you know if those trunks fit on the WRX/STi. Mine is a 2004. I know that I could pick up an Impreza trunk at a salvage yard for a couple hundred bucks and then have it painted or if it came in WRB that would be money. Or better yet if you have a wingless WRB and wouldn't mind switching to a big wing for some cash, let me know!!
All impreza trunks from 02 through 07 are interchangeable. The 06 07 had 2 holes where the trunk badge is mounted. Otherwise they're all the same. Iirc wrb was only offered on the wrx and sti models. Also, next time please search. This topic has been covered several times over the years.
Thanks. And I did search. But when people use stupid titles for their posts it's impossible to find this. Search for trunk swapping or trunk fitment and absolutely nothing comes up.
Either way since you want winless and wrb is only a Wrx/STi color they will be hard to find. If your really in a hurry sell just your wing and use the money to fill the holes and get it repainted
Wow didn't even think of that. I guess Ill put the wing up for sale and see if anybody wants it. Probably like 150 bucks?
Would you be interested in trading your sti trunk and wing for my wrx trunk and wing. There would be less holes to fill. We would both need a paint job.
Check Nasioc, or you can just get a trunklid from the dealer and have one painted. Keep a couple of things in mind if you do a swap. You'll also need to swap out the trunk springs and the lock cylinders. The trunk springs are optional if you want to convert your car into a newer style catapult. The STI springs are meant to be able to lift that heavy wing once the latch gets pulled/key gets used. A regular trunklid is going to take your head off if you're using the key and you're not ready for it.
This could also be a theft deterent if someone breaks into your trunk. And chucking pumpkins might be fun.
I'm not sure how it'll do with a pumpkin, but I've seen aluminum cans get turned into Japan's answer to the Iraqi super gun. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Project_Babylon
