    Hi all,

I welcomed 2016 by getting backed into while waiting to go through a car wash. The damage is just the front quarter panel, but the truck that hit me hit right along that hard crease where the fenders flare.

Does anyone have a recommendation of a good shop on the SE side of the cities? I live in Cottage Grove, and would like to stick close to home if possible.

I have a DGM hatch, and I know that it is going to be challenging for the shop to get the color & flakes right to the rest of my car, but I would like to get as close to factory as possible!

    Thanks,

    Erik

"Front quarter panel" and "rear fenders" still get me every time :uhhuh:.

I'd recommend either Lamettry's on robert trail or Roz's in south st paul, for that side of town. If it's just the fender area make sure that whatever shop you bring it to adds paint time to have it blended into the door. A good shop will know to do this but I'd just make sure it's included in the estimate. I've had a few come through with that color that had single panels painted from previous shops and it's very obvious when it's been squared off. GL!

Thank you! I will check these out as soon as I find out where I am allowed to take the car under the other guys insurance. And good call no the feathering into the passenger door. It would definitely be noticeable!

I believe by law you are allowed to have your car repaired at the shop of your choice no matter whose insurance company is picking up the tab.

Yep, in MN you're allowed to take your car to ANY shop you would like to. Insurance companies have their "preferred" shops, because those shops throw them a bone on labor so that the company sends them more work, you aren't required to use that particular shop. I'd collect at least 3 estimates from different shops, decide where you would like it done based on quality and convenience, and send that quote to the other parties adjustor.
