well, I was thinking and if it was possible if there is any known place in the USA that will make a tubular chassis for me. I want to buy back my RS and turn it into a race car using a tubular chassis for the front. It'll probably be expensive and all, but hey! it's a project!

I had a customer come in with an old malibu, that he is setting up to race and he was telling me to do a tub on his car they wnted over $15000 so I think a tubular chassis will be very expensive...

Yea, all of the metal alone is expensive. Then you need many man hours of pipe bending/welding/measuring/etc

Buy a welder and do it yourself, it'd be an awesome project. I don't think it would be too terribly expensive if you do the work yourself, maybe use square tubing instead of round, that would probably be cheaper. My dad started something like that with an older impreza, but he never finished it.

    Here's some inspiration. :D

I agree with the square stock frame. A nice wirefeed welder would probably run you around 300 bucks and a metal yard would be able to get you some square stock for pretty cheap. You could probably do the entire project for around 1000 bucks in materials. I think it would be a great project for the winter months if you have a garage to work in.

that top buggy is striaght out of MadMax! that thing rules.

it would be alot of work remember though that you are still gonna need to get the replacement parts to make it look like na impreza. ie bumper cover, headlights, stuff like that adds up real fast.

if you did it, it would be crazy sweet!
