yeah, I was really into tiesto a couple years ago. I've seen him a couple times. He's actually playing here again in June and am going. I've kinda moved on from him. He's good, but a lot of hardcore trance enthusiasts don't like him since he's "mainstream" now. I've been listening to Armin Van Buuren the most lately. He's good, and he's #1 DJ in the world right now too!

yep, I've heard some of his stuff. First heard it on an episode of "A State of Trance", just like this track. Since our Trance and electronic scene in america is quite lacking, I get most of my fix from Armin's Radio Show.

I did that today in the Cobra to and from school lols. I have it burned on a disc and had the CD player on repeat. I literally had my volume up at max and was rocking it. It sounded f***ing awesome too since Ford put a pretty decent system in the Cobras from the factory that can really pump out the wattage.

Yeah I've downloaded all of plastikmans albums from itunes and I can't get enough of his music. Your comment about having that song on repeat made me laugh cause generally I listen to all different types of stuff but i think for the last few months its been solid plastikman. His music is so incredibly cerebral and I freakin love it!

nice---sounds like a good time. I wish I had a better system in the STi...still decent for stock though, as compared to other stock setups I have had. Nothing earth shattering though. $$ is low right now though.

Same here, but I don't mind. I'd rather have more people listen do it than have it die into obscurity.

Btw, I've been listening to trance since oakenfold released "tranceport" in 1997. So I'm no bandwagon jumper. Anyone who's ridden with me knows its the only thing I've had in my cd player for 10 years.

well, 95% of the crap that is played on MTV and the radio makes me :puke:. I'm sure you're the type that likes nickelback, fergie, etc.

At least this genre has some musical talent unlike all the crap that is in heavy rotation in America. IMO, trance is modern day classical, but instead of instruments is digitally composed. In fact, there are quite a few remakes of classical trance songs like "adagio for strings" that have remixed into trance.

lmao trance is probably the most cookie cutter and plane jane of all the electronic genres (with house coming in a close 2nd).

IMHO, here are some of the real creative minds -- Abelcain, Venetian Snares, Bogdan Rasczynski, etc.

^^^ I 2nd this! Been to see him when the Foundation was open. And if you so happen to like drum & bass, go look up "Dieselboy - The Dungeon Masters Guide" NOW, plenty of good tracks to test out your subs to, just watch out!

Look for some Sandra Collins, Jeff Mills, Adam Beyer, Chris Liebing, Ricardo Villalobos, John Aquaviva. With all these djs listed, have fun!

^^^ I missed this post, yes, Tranceport was/is jawsome! Brings back good memories :)

Well your way off. Sorry I don't like trance, I think it's out played, and probably one of the easiest types of electronic music to play.

Since we're "assuming" things here, I assume your probably a huge Tiesto fanboi as well, seeing that you still listen to Tranceport :)laugh:)and anything else Oakenfold has slapped together.

Why don't you get out of your "trance" and experience some real music ;).

    Explain.

What part of the lyrics/vocals make it any better? The fact that they are generally as repetitive as the synths? The total lack of any importance?

Oh tell me why...something something castles in the sky.

    Bah. Personal preference. my bad.

Meh, it would be better if done with acoustic instruments.

This type of stuff is good for car racing video games...and that's where it stops. I enjoy nearly everything but country (which can DIAF, yesterday) but I can't tell any one "trance" song apart from another...all it draws to mind are greasy teens with glow sticks...
