Anyone know where I can go to get a tune on a full size Ford truck. i'm just looking some added fuel economy.

Are the Hypertech programmers and such the only option?

If the truck is stock I dont think a custom tune is worth it.

So does anyone have experience with the Hypertech/Bullydog type of programmers? are they safe or do they lean out the engine too much? I've been searching for a while and haven't been able to find a comprehensive/real world review for a ford truck programmer.

I had one on my last 2 chev trucks. They worked out pretty good. I noticed a pretty good kick in the low end torque, which will give you better mileage. I know on mine I was supposed to run premium, but I could get away with 89 and the knock sensor didn't pick anything up. The part that I liked the most is that I could change the tires size and re-calibrate the speedo. Not sure how much that helps since mine was on Chev stuff.

Any of the name brand ones will treat you well. I heard bullydog is kind of expensive. Hypertech or the Predator ones should be the cheapest ones.

I know someone who had an edge evolution in his F150 and he liked the added mileage also got some noticeable gains for towing. It has different setttings for power, towing, and economy. looks kinda neat too

One more plus one for the Chevy truck ones. Hypertech. Get the good one, as it will allow you to tune for different octane fuels, change the tire size, economy and/or power... that kinda stuff. Also removes top speed limiter. :)
