What are some shops in minnesota that tune with the AP. i know DB does and i have a protune date set up with them on feb 16 but they still havent gotten the 2.0 software in yet and they said they are having some bugs when they tune it with the older software. They expect the software in soon (hopefully before feb 16!!!) but what are some other reputable shops around that could tune my car with the AP? Thanks

From what I understand is the protuners all received like a 1.5 edition that allows them to create maps for the AP2.0, but it doesn't have any of the new features yet.

You can go with PDX tuning. They operate via the web. You email your mods, they send you a custom map, and then you send them logs and they send you updated maps.

Walloftvs used them a year ago and was very impressed. He said it was the best money he'd ever spent. Now he does his own tuning. You can shoot him a pm, but PDX does good work.

Like I have said before, if you plan on have a good tune, do it at one time. If I were to road tune your car, DB would have to start all over when they dyno tune it. Likewise, I can't tweak anything that DB does. If you get in on the PDX day, or do a PDX e-tune, nobody but pdx can get into that map. Right now nobody has 2.0 software for the ap. I have the protuner software and DB has the protuner software. Next closest place is p&l in chicago.

Well, since everyone is waiting on Cobb for the 2.0 software, I would guess somewhere around 2015 or so.

As for a utec vs ap, if you don't want to tinker to keep a good tune, don't go with the utec. If you are looking for max power, the utec is the way to go. But the utec's corrections vs the stock ecu corrections are not as good. So you will have to come up with a map or 2 for changes in the weather. You also have to remeber that the utec runs straight timing, so it only has 1 timing map. When you tell the motor you want 20 degrees of timing, you get 20 degrees of timing. There is a little more work involved to keep a utec car running in top shape, but it will easily put down more power the a reflash car. What are you so concered about with the ap? You will be fine getting it tuned with the current software. People are doing it every day.

alright. That was just my main concern. as long as the ap will work fine then i'm in good shape. I'll probobly just tune it as is and then after i get used to it i'll upgrade fuel and set up the alky!
