I'd say yeah. That is the lowest I have seen for it. Shipped atleast, and yes its a good FMIC.

You will loose power if you put a FMIC and do not tune for it.

    Utec first

Browse NASIOC Vendor classifieds for best price if you want to buy one new, otherwise look in the Private classifieds, people are selling them all the time for around 600 I think.

If you buy a used one--no reason not to, I did--note the following hardware revisions and which cars they work with:

    Revision 4: 2002 WRX
    Revision 5: 2002-03 WRX
    Revision 6: 2002-current WRX

Well, if you are running the stock turbo, go with the utec. If you are not running the stock turbo, you better have a utec! I don't think you will loose and hp by adding a fmic, but you WILL NOT gain any. If you are not running some sort of em right now, you are not even maximizing what you have. Remember, always get some sort of em first, otherwise most of your mods will not be used to their potential. I can guarentee you, that if you get a utec, that you will say "wow, I gained alot of power". You buy a fmic, and you will be dissapointed.

Hows this for good parts to buy!

    turboxs fmic
    turboxs utec
    downpipe
    tein coilovers-flex
    sway bars and mounts
    rear end links
    alk
    brake hose and speed bleeder
    front and rear brake pads
    slotted/drilled/vented rotors
    H6 caliper brakets

And down the road a little way i might buy:

    VF22 or VF34 turbo
    injectors
    fuelpump
    uppipe

    What do you think?
I don't know about the coilovers yet

Move the uppipe higher on the list, right next to the downpipe and it looks good.

I can get good deals on those too ;) I'm like a parts whore or something...:p

I got a new radiator coming on Friday to replace the broken one. Shouldn't take too long to drain, replace, fill, burp and test. Hopefully, if everything is good to go after the radiator install, the car will emerge from hibernation on March 1st. And that is depending on the snow, as I don't have snow tires. So, any meets in March :)

You won't find one from a vendor for cheaper than that. If you buy used you can do better though.

I'd take a UTEC in a second for $800. But seriously, in order to do any major modding you'll need EM, so the utec in my mind is the first mod to be done. Let me know on the Prices though, i'll be getting one once good ole tax return arrives.
