Hey guys, brand new here. This is my first Subaru, and up until this point I have done purely cosmetic mods to my car. I drive an 08 LGT and I want to start with some basic performance mods now. I'm sure i'll have way too many questions, but thanks in advance for any help!

    Ahhh... we hoodwinked another one.

    Welcome!

I'll let someone else jump on you for not having pictures while pretending to merely be warning you that others will be jumping on you for pictures.

    Wait...

Yeah I bought it about a year and a half ago. Originally owned by a guy out in New York, it was on the lot for 1 day before I had to snag it. Its a great car and cant wait to start modding it a bit!

Here are a couple quick pictures I took from my phone of my car.
Pretty basic, at least to this point...

I was thinking of getting it tuned to Stage 1 first by NF (hopefully), Ive heard great things about his tuning. Once I have the cash to buy a down pipe I'll push her to stage 2. I have too many questions I need to ask before I get to that point, however!

You can't go wrong with an NF tune.

Just wait until you have at least the Dp and then go get it tuned. Why pay for 2 tunes? Just trying to save you $

Devoted Auto Works is the place to get it tuned, Dyno tune + street tune = great running car

My magnaflow catback exhaust will be coming in the mail tomorrow. I was just wondering if any of you had any recommendations of local places to have it installed (I already contacted NF)? I would have done it myself, however, I'm currently renting a house at college and have no tools or space!

I see what you did there.

Welcome to the site. The car looks great! There are a lot of great shops in the area.... but there is a reason why most of the current members are tuned, built and go back to NF. Just check out the signatures alone in your thread. If you have questions feel free to ask. You'll get some good advice along with some bad advice... as with any forum. Most of us will help you out or call out those that have the intelligence of a rock. When the weather warms up there may even be an empty garage or two to help out with the install of basic bolt ons. Feel free to PM if you have any questions.

I absolutely will be going to NF when I want to go stage 2, but I feel like I would be wasting their time solely wanting a catback installed...

I would talk to NF about what you want to do vs listening to non-tuner/engine builders on this forum (like myself ;)) . That is the best path for your wallet.

Welcome, I have the same car in opposite color (Satin White Pearl). Just bought in Dec and accumulating mod goodies as we speak. :) One of these weekends I'll get around to installing them and NF for tuning. Also, legacygt.com, if you haven't found that site yet.

What section of town are you in?

Thanks for the welcome! I live in St. Paul in the Mac/Groveland area. Just met Nuke and those guys the other day and had my catback installed. Great guys!
