Less turbulance.. I read somewhere that ideally you want it to join together 6" from the turbo outlet. I say you buy it and reroute the dump to the atmosphere like me. :D

Less turbulence is kind of correct. The problem is when the flapper opens it acually slows shaft speed due to the drop in preasure. Additionaly the same gases are shot at the back side of the turbine further slowing shaft speed and then the WG duty cycle (flapper)goes up to try and hold the same boost level. Kind of a catch 22.

So yes a divorced design or external waste gate are best for not sacrificing shaft speed. But, the twin dump has another problem. Since you have the two pipes, one always flowing (turbine discharge) and the other the waste gate dump hardly being used in every day driving. So what you say? Well they expand at different rates and they are welded together. That is a rescipe for a broken weld. So Jeremy is right the best twin dump is straight to atmosphere. for the wastegate. The problem is it is loud!

    Hope that helps

i like my car loud.:) everyone at my house says it wakes them up when i warm up my car in the morning since i leave for work the earliest.:D thats why i love my HKS. but sometimes i wish i had a stock looking exhaust just as loud. but i like the way the carbon-ti looks.
but yea...how do you reroute the dump to the atmosphere?

Buy one of the twin dumps and hack off the part that reroutes it back into the normal exhaust. Weld the hole from on the main pipe and weld on a new peice of pipe to the wastegate pipe. Run that down, out, and facing the ground.(So you don't get soot everywhere):p
