power weight ratio are pretty close between te two but the itr being fwd it's faster on acceleration while rolling but 1/4 mile they are pretty equal.
Who is faster where? On a drag strip its obvious its going to be the WRX with more torque off the line and traction is not an issue as far as coming out hard. But on a circuit course it the Type R, from the factory the come with much better tires, and is designed for the circuit. There was an artical a few years ago in Sport Compact that compared a WRX with the Type R.

my buddy is gettin a type R and he started talkin already so we'll find out and letchu guys know if anyone wana take him up then holla hahaa
200 fwd chp vs. 227 awd chp I would say that if you are going to run from a standstill, the WRX will take it. Unless the R has drag radials on the front, it is going to have quite a bit of wheel spin, whereas, the WRX will not (should not) have any wheel spin. Plus, I haven't been in a sport compact where 2nd gear pulls as nice as the WRX. I have a buddy that wants to race me in his RSX, but I don't want to dissapoint him He's got 200 chp, and I've got (estimating) ~250-260 chp. At a 25% driveline loss for me, and roughly a 17-20% driveline loss for him, I still beat him in whp, and even though his car has high performance summer tires on, it will still break loose with a measly 3.5K clutch drop. Anyways, the WRX will win, but it is possible that there could be an error between the seat and the steering wheel, so anything can happen.
