Here's an article from Engadget along with a response from the Monster CEO about how Monster Cable is actually the victim in all of these Monster lawsuits. This one talks specifically about them Suing Monster Mini-Golf.

    Here's the article from Engadget.

    uhhh.. http://www.monster.com/

So is monster.com paying off Monster Cable, or is Monster Cable just not messing with them since it is easier to pick on the small guys?

A cable is a cable. Monster cables are no better than anyone else's. They are not crap, just way overpriced.

I just sat through that entire video. Does he really think he can fleece the internet with his ramblings? Seriously, this isn't stupid clueless consumers, this is the internet. Most of the people on here shop here, and know that your prices are completely ridiculous. And then playing the victim, saying that Monster Mini Golf was out to take over Monster Cable?! Seriously? You believe what you're saying right now?

I also love how on the Youtube video, they have one comment from a shill that says how he is so right about what he's saying, and then they disabled comments.

The shill post got marked as spam and can't be seen, lol.

This is kinda old and I can't remember if I posted it before or not, but it fits well.

    http://www.audioholics.com/news/industry-news/blue-jeans-strikes-back

It's a story of Monster Cable going after another cable company who's president was a federal litigator (oops)

Well, when you sell aproduct with a higher markup than crack, you tend to get paranoid.

The thing is, rich suckers keep buying his crap. Tool around the Minnetonka or EP best buy and you'll hear people buying it left and right. "If it's more expensive it *MUST* be better!"

Now, I will admit i've bought some APC power surges. They are not cheap either.

Yeah, there's a difference between proven equipment with a history of meeting or exceeding their promises about said product, and jackholes selling snake-oil miracle cables.

The fact that my APC UPS's battery is still good even though I bought it so long ago I don't remember buying it amazes me. i'll pay markup for that.
Monster Cable doesn't even sell crack, they sell cooked baking power and sell it at a premium price claiming it is super crack. How else does a ****ing cable company get naming rights to a stadium?

I've spent a small fortune on SurgeX "Non-Sacrificial" surge suppressors. Not for home but for work. If I had they $$ I'd buy them for home too. They are very expensive, but do a great job and don't die over time like MOV based ones do. As was said above, paying money for high quality and USEFUL products is one thing. Paying tons of money for high quality products that do NOTHING different than the cheaper versions is a joke.

just bought my last hdmi cable there for <$6.00 shipped! Oh, and because it's digital there's no signal loss! Amazing! Monster would sell the same cable wrapped in aluminum foil and covered in silicone for $99+.

But it would be wrapped in aluminum foil and silicone in a vaccuum-sealed environment to make sure no oxygen or signal demons get into the cable.
    DAMN YOU SIGNAL DEMONS!!!

Rip off. I have a bunch only because of friends that worked at BBY and got cost-plus pricing which was comparable to no-name equivalents.

The only thing with a higher profit margin in the store are extended warranties.

Truth. All of their cables/accessories, regardless of brand, are priced through the roof. $20, 6' hdmi cable = 2.99 employee pricing.

My favorite are the Monster iPod cables

A lot of "big" items have very little markup, so accessories is where they make their money. That and car audio.

Agreed, I bought two TV wall mounts from them this month, and while they just resell alot of monoprice.com stuff, the markups are almost non-existant, and same-day pickup in Eden Prairie is a wonderful thing.

I'll add a +1 for Monoprice. Got all my HDMI cables from there along with a Subwoofer output, and Banana plugs (speaker connectors). Also some sweet TOSLINK cables for audio, as my Onkyo HTIB receiver doesn't output HDMI audio...
