So, I feel like I have researched this extensively and I am either missing something, or there are no good touch less car washes in the St. Paul/Mpls area that do unlimited yearly/monthly memberships. Summer isn't a problem but with winter and cold weather approaching, home washes are no more.

Years past I have joined the Mister Unlimited Wash Club but those have the plastic brushes that make me cringe for my paint.

Holiday has a touchless unlimited program using some new RFID technology but they only have it in three locations, Prior Lake, Bloomington, and New Prague.

My dad uses the Chanhassen car wash, $400/yr for unlimited touch less washes, and they hand dry but that is a good 30 minutes away from the cities. I am looking for something like this near the cities.

Anyone know of any? What do you all do in the winter? Pay per wash? :(

A little birdy told me once that you shouldn't worry about the brushes because that way at least they aren't using as strong of chemicals as they would be in a touchless. They also do the Mister Car Wash thing and like it.

Bobby and Steve's Mobil off of Washington and 35W did it last year. $30/mo. Since it was right next to school it worked out well for me.

They stopped it over the summer, but I'm going to check back in once the snow flies and the salt and sand get on the road.

Meh, I called Holiday, they are working on the implementation of their new system throughout the metro area but as of now, only a couple of stations have it. I ended up going back to Mister again this year. :dunno:

They started it again. 35/month. It's not touchless anymore, but still works.

that holiday list above isnt complete. i'm in the unlimited thing at the holiday thats by 36 and mcknight in maplewood/n st. paul. it has that new rubber/foam touch spinny things. seems to work nicely and not leave scratches. i know that all Yocum holiday stations have that unlimited deal. if you add more cars it gets cheaper too....we have 2 cars and the first car is 29.99/month and the second is 19.99/month for the same plan.

    mike..dont even get him started.

I've never had a problem with the "touch" type washes, I go to the ones that have guys that spray all the crap off and prep the car before it goes to the brushes, that way it has less likelyhood to scratch the paint. Then the hand dry at the end to get the door jambs and hatch to keep from freezing. I think that alot of the "swirling" people think is fromthe car washes is from the lack of wax on the surface of the paint.

The winter is pretty tough on the exterior and I just put three layers of mothers, cleaner wax, sealer and glaze and 100% carnuba paste wax after my wash on wednesday to protect the paint. After that I'll use some type of spray wax (the black magic aerosol stuff is the best!) afterevery wash to keep the paint protected.

Actually, if you're using automatic washes I find that a high-quality synthetic will stand up better in the winter.
I use einszett glaz wax in the winter. Holds up to the harsher automatic washes of the winter.
In the summer I use a carnuba (onegrand blitz), but then I'm handwashing, and I also don't mide waxing as often.

Oh and yes, twin cities=inside the 494/694 loop
