I am new to subaru. I just found out that it is a very good idea to replace the UP; and I want to.

Which UPs would you guys recommend? I want one that comes with or has studs and closest to stock is without the cat. :hsugh:

Well if the Grimmspeed one comes with studs, I'd get that one.

If not, look at the Crucial Racing one -- coated, catless and comes with studs.

I say almost any will do unless you are doing some crazy setup..

ERZ is decent for a cheap price, but soem have had good luck others not so good...

some argue for the flex sectioned ones, others for the solid ones...

I say see how much you have budgeted for one then look in that price range.. or wait and get something a little more $$$.. also factor in that unless you have the tools, patience or get go to try to install this yourself then you may be paying someone to do it.. which most people start at about $100+ which isnt bad for about 2-3hrs work...

also what other mods are already done?? has it got a DP and exhaust already aftermarket?? cause there isnt a whole lot of benefit to be gained form that alone.. wont hurt but if you are going to that much trouble throw at least a DP on as well...

Spend the money ($50 more than a cheapo) up front and get the GS that's coated. Worth the time and money to do that install right the first time.

The 2nd or 3rd time I have to mess with an uppipe you start to get angry. I put my GS pipe in with some good gaskets and have never had an issue since.

I have the ERZ up and down pipe. the fitment is good, but since my cat back is custom build from the dp back there was no chance there for bad fit ment.

As of right now, it is stock. Its not a bad idea to get a DP also. I really just want my turbo to be safe from the UP cat failure issue.

I will probably be installing it myself. I use to be a Honda Tech and tooled around with Hondas. I went Subaru for the AWD turbo and roof rack for kayak fishing. ;)
