i also have a question about used pipes? is still as good as new? when you get a used up pipe (or any other items) is there a decrease in power? how many miles you got on your Godspeed?^

A used one is just as good as a new one, so there is basically no decrease in power whatsoever. I got this from a another member of mnsubaru last year. It was in his car for a year I think. I never had a chance to put it on. From what I heard about the up-pipes, the flex ones are not as good. Godspeed is a straight through design.....no flex section. ERZ's are flex as well as some others.

I got a good deal on a brand new dp and up combo.....so I won't need this.

I would inspect all the studs on a used uppipe to make sure the threads are good. There will be no decrease in power, only an addition in spool up which gives more power. I would recommend looking at some form of engine management for your own safety before you install these parts.

May the spool be with you.

These brands are the best of the best in terms of quality, performance, looks, etc. You can't go wrong with either one.

    Invidia
    Helix
    Godspeed
    Cobb

All others I would say are secondary.

When it comes to uppipes, I have heard the argument go both ways as far as flex joints. Some companies have them, some don't. My Prodrive uppipe has a flex and I have had 0 problems with it. The stock one has a flex joint, to me that says something...if Subaru wanted one there, perhaps they had a reason? Used uppipes are usually a good bet, find one in decent condition...I bought my Prodrive for 80 shipped and sold my old one for 40, so it was a pretty cost effective mod. You could also save yourself the coin altogether and just gut your stock pipe. It'll get you the same gains, just make sure you get all the substrate material out. There are several threads on Nasioc and Scoobymods on how to do this. If you decide to get an aftermarket pipe, if you find one you like do some searches and see if anyone has had any issues with that pipe. Good luck!

I'd put a Prodrive pipe up there with any of the rest ;)

A used up-pipe would be fine. Just install both at the same time so you don't duplicate your work. As an impatient person, my recommendation is:

    You buy now!
