    Hitting the broadside of the barn while standing inside ;)

    It's based on scores during qualification. IIRC 220 or more out of 240 quals as a sharpshooter. I may be off on that though.

    ya'll know that sharpshooter is NOT the top dog in military shooting qualifications, Expert is. It goes, marksman (you suck with a weapon, but managed to hit a few things), sharpshooter (know how to use the weapon and hit most of the targets), expert (you're a freak and people are probably scared of you)
