completely stock internals. Has all of the fueling/engine mgmt/etc... done, but for now, it will spool via magical forces....or a 50 shot, whichever is easier to come by.

actually, it should be building decent boost by ~4500 according to precision turbo....we'll see. If not, 2.5 liter time (in which case it may be too small of a turbo)

Did you do a converter yet?? That should help out quite a bit with the spool. I have 22psi with my 18g by 3000 fram a dead stop.

Yes, I have a pro torque TC...I was getting the same spool results as you. What kind of 60' times were you able to pull down? My best was a 1.63, but I was having issues with the car not shifting fast enough (had a utec at the time...that was the problem) so I could barely squeeze a 12 out of it.

Never had my car to the 1/4 mile track. Not really my thing. Where you using ulf on the utec?? If so, thats the problem. The 4eat ecu cuts the injectors at the shift points (to reduce power), and if you are running olf on the utec, it does not cut the injectors. So that would give you long shift and kill your bands/clutches. I still run my utec over my reflash and it runs great.

Nope, no OLF w/ my utec. Called Jorge and Clark and they both told me the same thing: If you have an automatic, ditch the utec.

Or run a reflash under the utec to control the major fuel stuff.

Sorry, not likely to get rid of that wing any time soon. If I do get anything, it will likely be an APR GTC-200 Drag Wing, but for right now I'm going to stay with what I have.

Best is relative. Fastest = UTEC, smoothest may have been flash only. The flash with utec on top seems like a really good option for most automatics.

Like I said, in my situation it wasn't working properly using the UTEC. I'm not looking into getting into a pissing match over it, just stating that I spent many hours on the phone with some known tuners working on the setup and as soon as we eliminated the UTEC from the equation, the car shifted properly and actually felt faster throughout...no more bouncing on the rev limiter 10x before shifts and much quicker feel out of the hole.

Yep, T04S 60-1. Good luck with that. I don't care what precision tells you. Your header + uppipe length will only compound the issues of trying to spool a large non-ball turbo before 5k rpms on a 2 liter. The problem we run into with Subarus in general is that unlike EVOs and Other inline 4's is that on those cars there is no uppipe, the turbo bolts directly to the exhaust manifold...usually mere inches from the heads. And when Precision tells you that the turbo will spool by X rpms, they are likely referring to an inline 4. On two of your cylinders, you have nearly 4 feet of header length to your turbo. And you had better wrap and coat your headers and port them...do everything in your power to get hot exhaust gases to that turbo's hotside.

    actually, it is a PT61, T350 turbine wheel, T3 .63 A/R turbine housing, with a 4" / 2.5" compressor housing...so essentially a SC61.

I'd like to, I should really get tuned if I do though. Are you going to be around the track this weekend? If so, would you be willing to give me a hand w/ Enginuity/Ecuflash? I'm fairly versed on how the UTEC functioned, but there are still some grey areas for me w/ reflashing, and I know that you know way more about reflashing than I do at this point, so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Are you going to be running a flash to fire it up and drive it around? Do you have that rom made? I can probably bang one out quick that will get it to idle and drive a bit....

I have flashed it w/ larger injectors (I have modded injectors, so I flashed a conservative 700cc) so far and that is all. If you feel like doing a quick rom, that would be awesome.

as in cold air intake or intake manifold? I am using stock intake manifold, and a straight cold air intake w/ a blowthrough setup for the maf.

Ok. I just need the inner diamater of the pipe that the maf is in so I can get close on the intake calibration table.

BIG thanks to Steve-O for hooking me up with a quick rom to flash to get me started. Haven't had a chance to use the ROM yet, as I didn't get to the shop last night...we'll try it today.
