I am contemplating either wrapping my uppipe or getting it sprayed (no, I still don't have it in yet, I'm that sad) and was wondering what to use. I wouldn't mind trying to coat it myself if possible but I don't know what to use or where to get it.

    Give me some ideas/options.
    Thanks

dont buy the can spray on crap..especially for an up pipe. techlines thermal barrier is what we and alot of coating companies use. first you'll need to bake the part, then sand blast, then acetone, then coat, then bake again.

after that i'd go ahead and wrap it. doing both coating and wrapping at the same time has its cons, but the pros more than outweigh.

Newbie question: So the up-pipe that is on my car is not wrapped/shielded at all. Is this something I should be concerned with?

    No.
it's just something that might increase performance a little bit.

so then that would be yes

i've heard stories of people blaming their passenger side head problems on the up pipe because it sits so close to the engine. i could definitely see this happening when youtake off the stocker and put an unshielded aftermarket pipe on.

I say spray it with vht ceramic spray paint and then wrap it with the dei heat wrap and seal it with the silicone spray.
