Is this even possible? I've heard mention somewhere that it might be possible to upgrade the software or something on an AP for an 04 in order to uses it on an 05. Is this true? Just trying to get my hands on a decently priced used or new AP for my 05 STi if anyone has one lemme know!
I think you would need to send the AP back to Cobb to have them switch ot over to 05, not sure if they charge you for that or not.
I think they charge the same price to "upgrade" them as they do to unmarry them, which is something like $300-400.
Well, its $400 to unmarry one (unfortunately I know). I don't think they will upgrade them. i asked about swapping a 02 wrx to a 05 lgt, and they said that everything internally is different, so they wouldn't do it. I guess I would call cobb and ask if upgrading is something that they can even do. Russ
Just buy a new one, because you never know how a use one will turnout. Plus unless you are getting it for free, which I doubt. As Russ said it will cost $400 more to unmarry it. Whether you buy it from me or someone else. It will be less headaches for you.
