Alrighty, so a little over a week ago TurboXS updated their firmware. I just got around to installing it today. Lots of good stuff in there, had some questions on a couple of perameters. Jorge, if you would weigh in, I would appreciate it. #1 There is Knock retard, and Timing Maps knock retard. Should the same values be for both? I don't understand why they added the Timing maps knock perameters. Also Jorge had some universal numbers for Knock threshold, but there are more RPM ranges now, any ideas as to the missing values? #2 Hold wastegate below MAP. They say 6 psi below minimum tuned value. My VF23 tapers to around 10 or so, can I use a value of 7 to get the prespool happening, or should I keep the value lower? #3 MAP scaling-"This allows the use of the injector scaling for non closed loop fuelling applications." I already scale for the closed loop, I'm assuming that I want this on when I'm out of the closed loop. #4 Closed to Open(yay!). What values are working well for people. 2 secs seems like a long time, but the transition must be like butta. #5 Open to Closed(also yay!) I was having some problem with Off throttle knock, so I was going to give this a shot. I'm thinking a small value(.5 sec), but if someone has somehting that's working better I'm all ears. #6 Temp correction. Jorge had commented end of last year how we needed to do something for low temps as well as high. What do we need to do? I'd look on NASIOC, but it's been so long, that I don't know who's full of $h1t anymore.
Wow, this is how out of the loop I am. New firmware a week ago and this is the first I've seen of it. Guess Subaru stuff has slid drastically down the pecking order. All good questions and I'm eager to hear some answers...especially since I have virtually the same mods John does.
So far I've been pleased. I always had a bit of shudder(to lazy to tune it out) over the transition, now I can't even feel the transition. Need to do a bit more data logging. Hopefully next weekend.
Hey John, long time no talk. 1: I'd have to refresh myself on the parameters to answer that for sure. 2: I'd set it to 9, that should work well enough. 3: If OLF is turned on, you should be able to leave this off (I did and it worked fine). 4: I set CL to OL to 2, and OL to CL to 1 5: For fuel I'd try this. 20-30 in fueling I'd leave at 0 Then I'd add .1 for each row above and below that. With timing I'd leave 20-40 at 0, and then -.5 for every row above and below that point. So 10-20 is -.5, <10 is -1, 40-50 is -.5, >50 is -1, etc... Start with that and give it a go. Sorry it took me so long to get to this. Jorge (RiftsWRX) www.ProjectWRX.com
