when i start up my car...the CEL flashes to indicate which map im running.(example: im on map 2...CEL flashes twice and stays on until i start up the engine. map 3...three flashes, and so on.
but ok..after coming back from vacation...i turned my ignition to the on position. the CEL flashed twice telling me i was running map 2. then after that....it just kept on flashing. it flashes sooo much i cant even count it. even when i turn on my car its still flashing. then it goes away after about 30 secs.

what the heck happened? should i reset my ecu? if i have to...how? thanks. chris

What are your mods? Hard to answer without that info.

Usually a rapidly blinking CEL at idle is realtime misfire.

my mods are: HKS carbon-ti catback, invidia dp, gt spec uppipe, aem cai, and a UTEC. the car starts and runs fine. it doesnt blink when im at idle...it blinks like crazy when its in the on position right before i start it up. when i start it up...it blinks for maybe 10 secs. and goes away. it runs normal...but idle is a little rough.

Hmm, before you even start the car...I've never seen that or heard of it before, then.

Sounds like you need to give Nathan a call I have not heard of anybody with that issue before.

Unplug the utec and see what happens. If it goes away it is the utec, if it still happens in is something else.

i tried just about everything...except looking at the wires for my gauges..could it be a loose wire from my gauges? just want to make sure before i start hacking at anything.

So you unpluged the UTEC and pluged in the stock ECU and the CEL still flashed?

If Yes then you have a stock ECU issue

If no then you have a UTEC issue and you should call TXS

Well, it could also need to get reflashed and reset. I would try reflashing the firmware first and give it a try again.
