Just got home from a friend's place, new firmware is UPDATED. Gonna spend some time reading the manual about open loop fueling. Actually...Russ, you have the day off, YOU read it. LOL

The open loop fueling really only helps if you have a MY04, 02 and 03 don't need to upgrade.

Going to work on it right after I am done checking out the forums. Sounds like it is going to be a good deal for the stg4+ cars. The injector scaling is going to be the coolest things, plus the fueling it going to work out great. No more low/high det maps, and no more fuel drift (or very, very little). I wish I had my car out to start playing around with it.

Hey, at least you get to play with it. Mine's not adjustable, but it sure is hella fun! :D

After doing some reading, it sounds like the open loop fueling is going to really benifit the stg4 cars (anything that uses non-stock injectors). Looks to keep a better (more stable) fuel mapping, and less drift from the stock ecu. The injector scaling is going to be a good deal. Still have to do some 0% colume tunning, but should be no big deal. Oh well, time to get back to some research.

I'm definitely going to be using open loop fueling. There is a really good thread on wrxhackers.com that I'm in the middle of right now, Nathan from TurboXS is contributing to it too.

There is the new 4.2 software out now. Has open loop injector scaling down to the 0% column. Joel, you also have your new stg4 map out. Looks like I might just have to use the 850cc stocker mod and see how well the utec scales the injectors.

It also has a Fuel cut feature. If you wanna run 20 psi, and you hit say 23psi, the enigne won't fire, just adding that much more protection, kind of nice someone is looking out for us.

P.S AFter bumper painted and tires that have been at sears in back for 2 months are finally paid for, new utec and exhaust, hopefully by june.

4.2 is working like a charm for me, loaded up their new OLF map and away I went. There is still a slight hesitation when it passes into open loop, but that can be tuned for. Lots of room for more boost and a bit more timing in the 2500-3000 areas on the default map. Runs pig rich at idle too, so the fuel trims need to be fixed.

I am going to reflash mine this week and give it a whirl. Looks to be a good setup, and I should be able to run the modded stockers and keep fuel trims and such in check. Now I just need to get everything installed.

I think the last weekend in April I am going to get everything in my car (assuming my fuel pump ever shows up). I have to drill and tap a couple of holes in the ic, and modify my bov. I am going to try to give Dave a call tonight and see whats up.
