So is there a difference between these seats? Also, are they narrower than the USDM STi seats? My stocker STi seats are too wide for me i guess Fuji heavy industries must thing all americans are huge and i want something narrower that will hold me in better laterally but still maintain a relatively stock look. Any other options you guys can think of would be a great help.
Yes, the JDM version STi seats are narrower. You can find set of them on www.jdmpartstx.com or you can look into Sparco seats, like what Jason has, but there alittle spendy; around 500-600 per seat. Good luck!
^ yah the JDM seats are fairly narrow. they are supposedly a much better fit. I like the V9 ones cuase they look awesome in black w/ the pink logo. although teh blue is nice, having striaght up black rules. as for fitment the older seats ie V4 are supposed to be the best.
Yeah the whole thing that sparked this was the V8 and V9 seats they have on jdmpartstx.com. So what's this about the V9's being all black? In the pics on jdmpartstx they show them as being black and blue are these just random pics? By fitment do you mean to my butt or to the car for the V4 seats?
Not sure the diff between V8 and V9. I do know that mine have the black insert in the middle of the seat. I know that they don't height adjust unless you take the adjuster from a USDM seat. They are much narrower than USDM. I wouldn't be comfy if I were a big guy.
as far as i know, the all black seats were limited edition seats that came with the spec-c.....unless i'm wrong.
difference between V8 and V9 is probably minor, like 04 vs 05 here. As mentioned, the spec-C V9s are the black ones.
ahh.... i guess the black ones are only spec c. oohh well still very hot. and the V4/5/6 are supposed to fit the butt better. just what i have heard since i cant afford those seats.
I would advise against getting a v8 or v9 seat if you are over 6 foot tall and into motorsports. I could not fit comfortably in the car with a helmet on with a V8 jdm seat. It is not height adjustable nor is it particularly easy to convert them into height adjustable (well the passenger's side is height adjustable but in the USA we dont drive our cars from over there). I am 6ft 2 and had to get rid of teh seat for this reason, it was a major pain to drive with a helmet on and was way too high up. It moved my seating postion up by at least 3 inches.
yia(yang) has them on his OBS. ask him to sit in it. as far as i know, i like the feeling and will get me a set later on.
