So I found a huge piece of metal (industrial size razor blade, broken in half) in my right rear tire after my steering wheel started shaking. The tires are the original Dunlop's, with about 10,000 summer miles so they were ready, and I'm not a big fan of them anyway. I'd planned on a track day this fall, an honorable retirement when the winter wheels went on, and a spring replacement. It's not that big a deal, just money spent earlier than anticipated. Mostly I'm irritated because I won't do a track day on new tires, so I miss out on that too. I ordered Michelin Pilot Super Sports, and left for the cabin while awaiting delivery. We had a great time with friends (incidentally an '05 STi owner from Denver and '11 WRX owner from Minneapolis). On day two of five I dislocated my shoulder water skiing. I got home tonight and took my Subaru for a spin...it had stayed home due to the damaged tire. I can easily drive the car, but I can't DRIVE the car at all, if you know what I mean. I get my Super Sports tomorrow, but I'm not even excited about it now. I'm out of work for three weeks due to the shoulder and it's a perfect time to go driving, but it won't be any fun. There's my sob story. And, yes, I realize it could be much worse! -Mark
