OK I want more power, still need to protune, don't want the lag of a 20g or the price, the fp 16/18g combo thingy sounds pretty good-basically I want to milk what I can for as much power as possible, the pinks are getting upgraded or modded, pumps already done, so what i comes down to is, whats the major advantage of the 16g w/ 18g compressor wheel to my vf34(is there in truth or thought into p&p my 34?)

Well, between the vf34 and 18g there is about 200+cfm difference. For a 5 speed and 2.0L, i would go with a super 16g or the evo3 style. The 18g lag vs hp difference of the 16g isn't worth it. The 16g will spool 500 or so rpm sooner than the 18g, and with a good tune, will be within 15-20whp of the 18g. I would rather have the spool than the top end. If you are looking for the power, go with a 20g. The spool difference between teh 18g and 20g are less than 3-400rpm and the 20g will throw down a bunch more power. With my 18g my idcs at 21-22psi is about 90-91 on 630cc injectors. I would go with some 700's and you will have more than enough headroom. &00's will even be good up to a 20g.

^^^ Yup, that pretty much sums up how I feel about those turbos.

I'd personally go with a super 16g or evoIII one.

Can you compensate for the lag of the larger turbos with the GM BCS?

Not really. You might pick up a 100 or 2, but you won't pick up the difference between a 16 and a 18.

Most go with either Slowboy or Forced Performance (or Deadbolt for the super16g).

Well, I am running a fp18g with my 4eat, and I haven't had one problem with it. My 18g was one of the first ones, so it is only, so I don't have any water cooling for the turbo. I haven't had one problem with it. I am also running 21-22psi daily. When I do my upgrade, I will probably go back to fp, since they sell what I am looking for.
