Mean looking car. Nice wide tires, front spliter and two holes in the front to help keep the internals cool. We have some things in common. LOL All that is left is the huge wing in the back. By any chance you'd let me test drive it at DCTC at either one of yours or my events?

Not until I know you better.

It does not drive anything like you'd expect, which can put you in the grass far quicker than you'd think possible. On my first or second run for the first 4 events I've done this year I spun the car. My co-driver has done slightly better with only 2 spins in the first few events.

The other reason is that those tires are around $8 a run.

LOL Well in that case lets make an opportunity to get to know each other better. I invite you to come to one of our BMW events at DCTC and catch a ride in my car first and than perhaps that might help change your mind. I'll be working with Mike Sitzenstock with his driving, he is a good friend and is also a instructor for BMW and has requested my assistance for awhile, but just been very busy. We just came back from BIR from a three day training event.

NO worries I would have replied the same way if I was in your shoes, I'm not as green as I might look, I do have some experience under my belt and I'm in no way trying to wreck your car. I watched your videos and thought I might be able to help.

Here is a video of a stock GenCoupe I drove this weekend, see what you think.

Well the next local BMW event at DCTC is July 25 for Teen and 26 for Advance. I can't give everyone a ride in my car but your all more than welcome to bring your own and help volunteer on the course and I'll be happy to show you what I can do with your car at DCTC> LOL

It doesn't matter to me if you have street tires or slicks they are all the same to me.

I've read a lot of what you have written and I know you are a pretty good driver. I just don't know you personally well enough.

I know Mike pretty well. He's a regular out at MAC autoX's. Nice guy.

If you really want to take it for a few laps I'd be much more comfortable letting you drive it at one of the CVSCC events (Eau Claire) or at Canturbury where if you spin it's just a large parking lot. When are the BMW events?

You can find the BMW schedule on my thread below. If I heard correctly your setup is very similar to Grimmspeeds GC. I've driven his along with mt. Fuji's Black Mamba. Well we don't have to meet up under these terms. But it would still be nice to meet you. I didn't know that people actually read my writings, its usually my friends who post replies.

Anyways I just can't help it sometimes when I see others who need help, I have to learn to sometimes bite my tongue. LOL

I will start a thread of the two cars I was testing from this weekend so I don't hijack your thread.

The fact that it's a '90's Impreza with a turbo is about where the similarities end between my car and Grimmspeed's.

I run 275/35R15 Hoosier A6's, Koni struts, 600/650 lb F/R springs, 22mm front sway bar, 2000 RS brakes, no ABS, custom chassis bracing, Cusco front, center, and rear diffs, and my car weighs under 2100lbs.

Grimmspeeds GC tarmac car is a WRX swap. My car is a WRX swap. Those mods on your car isn't that much different from mods done to my car. I run a DCCD 6spd, STi 2way LSD rear with the Surtrac in the front. I have no ABS and the Brembos LOCK hard. I have a quick steering column which is only 2.2turns lock-to-lock.

If anything Chong and I have the ability to adapt to the car's character quick well. Someone who wants to drive someone's car like how they drive theirs are not going to do well. That's just the thing. If you can't adapt and change your driving to match what the car does, you won't be able to drive fast in a car at all and result in trouble sooner than you think.

My car was setup to have quick turn-in, handle very neutral at mid-corner and slight oversteer at corner exit. That's all in suspension, alignment and tranny/diff setup. I don't find you car that hard to drive with your mods.
