So the vikes want a new stadium... What does everyone think about this situation? I personally could care less if we had the vikes as a team.... I love football and i love all minnesota sports... but i just cant force myself to be a fan this year. I was an adrian peteron fan, but now that he is injured, I dont have anything to look forward to. Why should we spend the money on a new stadium when we cant win a more than 3 games in a season... Spend the money on talented players like maybe a QB.... Idk but that seems more reasonable to me. T jackson is a great player but is just to young to lead the team. Any thoughts?
yea id say try to get new qb to. i dont think peterson will be here that long thoe. all good players dont stick to crapy teams. a good qb and were set.
I think MN should tell them to take a hike. What if 3M said they wanted a new headquarters? Would they get a huge, taxpayer funded building? I doubt it... But that game today was a disgrace. I actually laughed at that last GB touchdown!
Not as a dig on the Vikings (a lifelong Packer fan here) but they actually changed games to the Redskins/Eagles game after the Pack went up 27-0. I understand that Cowboys fans are interested in the division game but I've never seen Fox switch games in the middle like that. Sure when 3pm comes around sometimes they switch to the second game before the first one is over but this was still in the 3rd quarter. You all need to stop being fair-weather fans. Although I don't think the Vikings need a new stadium, especially with the Twins moving out soon, they still need your support if they're ever going to be good again. And if they want more respect then they need to do away with this indoor stadium talk. Indoor stadiums are for wimps and suckers. Real midwest football is played outdoors in the elements.
Yeah, they suck right now, but that's what makes it so good when it's good. This team looked like they completely quit today, probably the result of that cock/buffoon of a coach's decision to fine Troy Williamson over the funeral issue. He tries to play the hard ass with the fine, ruining any good feelings coming off of last weeks game, then he backs down on it showing he actually has no back bone. These players have no respect left for this guy, and it's going to show the rest of the year...
A new stadium for the Vikings would be a huge waste of money . They only play what...13 games a year? The fan base that would be coming to the games would not equal out the cost to build the damn thing (especially with so many fans giving up on em!).
THIS. Morale is what was probably kicking the Vikings the hardest today. It was very pathetic to watch, no joke. I honestly haven't seen raping like this since my last field trip to the local prison. It didn't seem so much like GB was saying, "OK guys, let's get out there and make a win!" It was more like, "OK guys, let's get out there and make it hurt!"
They need my support???? Ill give them my support.... I support there decision to fire Brad childress!!! I hate the way he runs the team.
I am from Green Bay and also a huge Packer fan, but I saw that the Vikings had basically given up in the beginning of the 2nd half and stopped watching. This city is full of fair weather fans. You will never see the Packers booed off the field at halftime...ever
Boo to all fair weather fans!!! I have season tickets and have seen a lot of great moments and a lot of terrible moments, but I WILL be back this coming Sunday to cheer on my team like I was last Sunday hoping for a win and hoping to see something I haven't seen before... I have been a Vikes fan through it all and it really sucks to see them give a lack of effort especially when anyone that watches this team knows that they have a lot of potential at their best... However, like stated above Childress is slowly and painfully (painful for the fans) losing "his" team! Just like after that Bears game earlier this year, a roller-coaster of emotional highs... Sad to say for a second year coach with a young team! Until Childress earns the respect of his players and coaches, he will never be successful at any level of headcoach with the Vikings or any other franchise...
^^^^ well put... I have never really been a fan of the vikes.... I love MN sports.. when i heard they were mamin a big deal out of gettin a new stadium, i was like cool that would be nice. Then i watched that game today and i was like why should we paymore taxes for a horse sh*t to get their asses kicked in a multi billion dolar stadium?
QB,WR,COACH, Players....etc...everything's gotta change...THe only bright side to this year was Peterson and now his injured...Bright side for the rest of the year!?! GO Gophers! Good thing my wife's side of the family is a Patriots fan...they r from" Bosstoan"
The vikings are honestly better bowlers then they they are football players... Peterson was bowling on friday night with everyone else. They all bowled over the summer and some of them bowled well over 180 averages. But they are FTL when it comes to Football.
I know! Losing to NDSU! What's up with THAT? Seriously, maybe NDSU will be hired to play the Vikes so they can win another game this season...
The NDSU basketball team only lost to Florida (the back to back NCAA champs) by 10 the other night, 65-75. We rule!
yep its always the coaches fault.. how about like any normal paying job.. you dont perform you dont get a pay raise... you dont meet your requirements you get fired... those players make too much money then they demand more... Dont get started on this crap... homeless/starving/orphan kids all over the nation and people are more concerned about ****heads throwing a ball downfield.... reality check... its a game... (not a go at anyone on here just a generalisation towards reality and what is important in life) Yep Vikes suck... I am a firm believer in supporting your local team... but hell when tehy suck they suck...
I think you're forgetting something very important, mate... You're in America now! World poverty doesn't matter, only foosball and NASCAR!!!
I'm going to disagree with you. Look at the revenues that professional sports bring in each year from ticket sales, tv deals, and merchandising -- billions of dollars for each sport, with the majority of it coming (directly or indirectly) from the fan's willing pockets. That money has to go somewhere. Where does it go? Answer: Into the pockets of the atheletes that the fans pay to watch. If it wasn't for the atheletes, then the professional sporting leagues in question probably wouldn't bring in much revenue. The atheletes are paid accordingly with what the market bears. I don't ever hear about anyone complaing that professional table tennis players are overpaid.
I hear you mang. I just think that they could come up with a better plan. $500,000 a year for each player on the football team for example. Now, if you perform well, you will have plenty of chances to get more $$$ from endorsements and what not. Tiger could play golf for free, and survive:roll: on the endorsements. I just feel that the money could go to stadium upgrades, benefitting the community through charities, or me...haha, the last one was for lullz only.
Well if he was a ****ty player that nobody wanted to watch, his contract would be a mere fraction of that.
Vikings suck...end of story. I'm not a fair weather fan either, they just always suck. Winning or not.
