Has anyone had luck putting a vinyl TA pinstripe on there wheels... Ive seen it done on sportbikes and I'd like to give it a try on my winter wheels...

Also, isnt there a few guys on here that can do vinyl?

    Any help would be appreciated!!!

I used the same 1/4" pinstriping that they use for the RA grille on nasioc. Its the same stuff you find at napa its worked on my wheels for a year now with no issues.

The only stuff we have that would stick to it would be reflective, and you don't want that. Just paint them?

And I'm not even sure the reflective would stick. Just standard vinyl won't stick to it. It's some sort of special stuff they sell at napa, and I'm not really feeling like buying a whole few yards of it just to do such a small job. I'd lose money.

    Ask Gearhead maybe?

The reason you can't just do it to a set of wheels, especially ones that are likely spraypainted black, is that there isn't a glossy polished surface to adhere to. Vinyl doesn't like bubbles or air gaps. Moisture gets in and it peels. If you painted your wheels black with a rattle can, I can assure you the vinyl wont stay. If you want to go time-attack, put in the effort and do it with masking tape and paint. I'm sure I can slice you some strips of red vinyl, but you're paying by the linear foot for material.

Also, you are assuming that the inside lip edge of your wheel is perfectly flat and true. And I can assure you that is not the case. A straight piece of vinyl isn't going to cover properly, and you'll likely have wrinkles (there's that pesky air and water issue again) and no vinyl cutter is going to want to R&D the proper curve to make it fit one set of wheels.

they are NOT spraypainted... adhersion wouldnt be the issue, but i assume getting the curve correct would be the issue with a straight piece if vinyl... i was thinking, though, it would be hard to make it perfect for the exact diameter of the wheels' lip, but im sure a pinstripe "circle" made just a little bigger diameter would easily adapt to the lip with just one cut...
is this a do-able thing?... or do i just sound like some d-bag idiot with spraypainted wheels?
    ha!
i just wanna have some fun with my winter wheels, these dont nescessarily need to be fap-worthy beautiful looking

It IS do-able, yes, but we'd have to 1: have your wheel for about a week and 2: do a lot of math to make the diameter of the circle perfect.
Talk to readymix, he might want to do it, but we were just working on it and it sounds like it would cost you a lot of money in just design time to get them perfect.

Or check online, someone might have some strips fs already. Most of what I saw online for vinyl'd wheels was for show only, because it's not going to hold up - especially in our winter with the salt and stuff.

I don't have Hot pink but I might have something close if you want it painted with a stripping wheel.

240" strip is going to be hard to do, as we are going to charge you by the linear foot. So you're talking 20 feet of material we'd have to slice to make one continuous strip. You'd be better off getting an idea of what the circumference of the wheel lip is, and then adding an inch for play.

ok so putting stickers on your wheels is way "cooler" than spray painting them?

    love,
a d-bag idiot with spray painted winter wheels!
