I went to move my 02 wrx out into the main part of my garage to work on it a few days ago. I hooked back up the battery and upon doing this the alarm started going off. The key fob will lock and unlock the doors but no matter what I do the alarm and immobilizer will not disengage. It has been installed and working fine on the car for over 5yrs anyone have an idea why it may be doing this now?

I had something similar with my viper alarm. Turns out it was the hood immobilizer was off tilt fixed that and fixed the problem. There should also be a way to put it on limp mode or valet mode. its a combination of taps to the receiver button on your windshield.

Another thing to check is if the fob has working batteries.

Fob has brand new batteries both fobs lock and unlock the doors. I'll check into the hood immobilizer. I'm assuming that's around the latch area?

I'll see what I can find. I'm not sure mine came with one.
