I am taking my wife and mother in law (visiting from South Carolina) to Duluth tommorrow morning for the day because Grand Forks sucks, and will be driving there early Tuesday morning staying the night, and leaving midday Wednesday.

Just trying to get some good ideas on where to take them. Only things I know are basically Split Rock light house, and Glensheen. I haven't been there for 15 years or so.

I would love to get opinions on where to go and where to go to get good food. ( we are kind of foodies.)

    Thanks for the help

I would just drive up 61 to silver Bay, there are a bunch of hiking trails and waterfalls right off the hwy

Get a schedule of the ships going into canal park and go down and see a ship come in if any.

    Go to the aquarium.

couple good sized ships expected to leave tomorrow afternoon

depends what you want to do. Weather is supposed to be meh, so sightseeing might suck. Enger tower up on Skyline Parkway is a pretty cool place, amazing views (actually, if you've got fairly soft suspension.....drive the length of skyline). Glensheen is pretty cool.

If you like chinese food, there's a little place on superior st between 12th and 13th aves east called the Beijing Restaurant. Very cool little place, excellent food and very cheap. Just remember to bring cash, as they don't take plastic. I always bring new people there.

Enger tower is pretty neat... for 10 min

It really puts you on the spot when it's your own town..

Aquarium is pretty okay as well.
If you're looking to kill time you can take a scenic tour up the shore by train.

LISTEN to Chux, Beijing is excellent if you're into Chinese
