BUMP! - going to leave this up for a few more days. Currently it looks like a BBQ / Car Show and Shine is going to be the event. Does anyone want to host this event before we start looking into different parks in the area?

Being that there is a MNSOC section here that you cant see unless you have the membership, but everything else regarding organizing things for that CLUB is shown elsewhere through this site... I would have quoted what you said with my statement if it was pointed to you like below so now I suggest you untwist your knickers and stop being so sensitive ha ha ha ha and keep ideas coming...
I wouldn't be able to run the thing... but if you can find out how much it is I would be happy to look into that option. No actually you are wrong. How would people know about the event or the club if no one ever told them about it?
River West park just north of Franklin on the West River Parkway is usually a good spot, multiple BBQ grills and tables open and often quite a bit of parking for free. It's also directly across the river from the U, so kind of a central location.
