I'll accept some "interpretation" of the definition of "winter beater" so use your best judgment. ED*T: I reserve the right to kick your entry to the curb if I find it blatantly outside of the rules.
Here's my '00 2.5RS sedan: Meet Gus. Even at the young age of 10, Gus is a bitter old man. His joints need replacing, his body is worn and tattered, and he involuntarily wets himself from time to time. Sucks for Gus, huh? Despite these shortcomings, there are things that make Gus awesome. At 185k+ miles, Gus is a trooper. He’s also very comfortable in his skin. Spend any amount of time with Gus and he’ll let loose some foul odors and strange noises from both ends. Finally, he only has one pair of shoes (stock 6-spokes and winterforces) so he’s truly only equipped for winter and off-road duty. Over the past 2 weeks, Gus has undergone a series of surgeries and treatments to rehab him back to top condition. He’s a simple old man who doesn’t like the bling, so he’s very excited to be a part of what I’m calling project UNpimp my ride: 1)Bilstein pss9 coilovers replaced for gr2’s, stock rs springs, and oem hardware (tophats, perches, crash bolts, etc…) 2)Rotors and pads replaced on all corners 3)PS front outer tie rod and ball joint replaced 4)Aftermarket cold air intake replaced with stock airbox with K&N filter 5)All-season tires replaced with stock sized Winterforce tires So what does a day in the life of Gus look like? Here is Gus at home. He’s comfortable being surrounded by tools and trash, unlike his prima donna roommates. Here is Gus at work. Doing what he does best. Here is Gus at play. He's still young at heart and loves playing in the mud.
I voted No Power Anything and Tan Seat Cover. I will drive home in my winter beater and feel much better about it.
I've gotta vote honda since my suby is dead and I just bought a 1990 civix dx hatch for a beater too! haha
