I've been contemplating getting a system lately.. Lets hear about some of your setups.

Are any of you actually using water?
Are you using a "kit" or a DIY operation?
How are you controlling it? UTEC?
How is it working out (directed mainly to rich and aaron)?

I've been looking at the SMC kit, any experience? I like the clean install...

I've looked at this kit before. I was looking over the FAQ for mix ratio for water to alcohol and all they talk about is straight alcohol injection

If it's a decent price difference, I would probably be interested.

i've been contempalating on getting one for the EVO... they're still more expensive than the one you have mentioned, at about $515, but it think it's also a methanol injection.alcohol injection kit. i hear methanol will really boost things up, as opposed to just alcohol. and i hear it usually lasts atleast a few fill ups... any downsides to this? besides the price being my killer!

mine is working well, 50 degrees, 92 and AI = walking a carrara 4.. .
i have the homebrew kit. running about ~30/70 a/w
    http://www.projectwrx.com/modules.php?name=Content&pa=showpage&pid=34

i think the smc, with their small pump, braided lines spiffy spray nozzle and the progressive controller makes an easier/cleaner install.
and the little washer tank they send with the kit would have been the deal breaker if i had known about it when i was deciding..

if you only have $200 to spend an jorge's kit is the way to go.
just make sure you get this hose as the feed line from tank to pump.
    http://www.mcmaster.com/ctlg/DisplC...1=PN&ScreenWidth=1600&McMMainWidth=913#scroll

if you go with the trunk setup thats all you need.
if you do an enginbay setup, order half as much of the posative side hose, delete the spec'd tank, and order a braille battery to help make room in the engine bay.

    note on group buy..
there are only so many cars that jorge can tune in a day. i think we hit his comfort level last time arround.. (more of a bludgening than a hit really.)
10 kits in 10 cars might represent 2 days of investment.
i think folks would need a good idea on what the wonder twin team (jorge/ron) might charge...
and some one will need to host, (pay up front) for that ammount.

there also is a diffrence in fmic and tmic spray nozzle setups, so that would need to be addressed... as well as the differing flow rates....

I remember that right after it came off the dyno and it kinda concerned me about the W/I. Did you make any adjustments after the dyno to your smc kit?

full tank lasts around a tank of gas, maybe less. it depends on how you drive, mine is set to come on at 12 pounds of boost.

So what are we doing here guys? Are we going to try to get a group buy going on alky injection? Or just go our own way. I really really want this for my ej22t swap and it would be nice to spend a little less.
