Anybody out there have a Prodrive muffler on their WRX? I'm thinking about adding one to my TXS Stealthback and would like to hear one in person. All the sound clips I've found have been downright crappy.

I'm out in New Jersey this week but I'll be back Sunday night. I've also got a second used Prodrive muffler that is slightly damaged (sounds fine though) if you are interested in a project, heh.

Zola, any chance I could check out your exhaust when you get back? I might also be interested in the used Prodrive, depending on just how 'slightly damaged' it is. :D

Yeah definitely. I will tell you up front that it might require a bit of pounding or pipe bending to make it fit without hitting the rear differential....let's just say I had an unintentional encounter with a snowbank two winters ago.

Ouch. No offense, but I think I'll keep shopping for new and 'gently used'. ;)

I'd still love to hear your current setup, though. Do you just have the muffler, or a full turboback?

No offense taken, some people are just willing to turn things into a project, some aren't. If it were me I probably wouldn't buy it in the condition it's in but some people like a challenge.

I have the TXS stealthback and Prodrive muffler, wouldn't trade it for any other combo.

I'll send you an email, and maybe we can figure out a time to meet, if that's okay.

I also have a prodrive muffler. You are welcome to check it out too. I like the sound of it. Not droaning or obnoxious. This engine sure has an interesting lumpiness to it.

I would like to hear more about the TXS Stealthback. Is that a turboback or catback system? How does it sound?

The Stealthback consists of the downpipe and midpipe components of the TXS full turboback. It's available catless or w/ a high-flow cat in the midpipe. It allows you to bolt on any aftermarket muffler, or the stock muffler if you prefer. Sound is noticeably louder than stock IMO, but not obnoxiously so. Like many aftermarket downpipes, it also tends to create a whistling sound under low boost, presumably caused by wastegate flutter. There's a fix for that (http://www.scoobymods.com/forums/showthread.php?t=3654), but I haven't tried it yet.
