the carbon fiber hood for your car is about the same weight because the stock is alluminum so you really aren't saving weight(that is if you go with the oem look) Thats what I have and I look it, it just really depends on the look you like. I figured it would be cheaper to go with a cf one that get one and have to paint it. there is one cf hood in the cities he said he would end the auction early for 500 cash picked up but I paided 450 shipped for mine brand new from seibon in a group buy, so I know you could get a cheaper one for that. the only other cost with going the cf route is hood pins(recommended but not necesary) My hood is one of the nicest ones I've ever seen and all the gaps match up with minimal waves, so watch for this. good luck;)

I am in the same boat. I am either gonna pull the trigger on a brand new OEM hood and have it painted or get a carbon fiber one and have it painted. I have had zero luck finding a good used hood.

Here is how I see it:

Carbon fiber (quality one costs $450-500)
    +dent resistant
-cracking concerns in winter (is it really a problem?)
-hood pins (do you really need them?)
+could get away without painting so its cheaper
-ricey if not painted especially on a non-black car

OEM Aluminum (dealer with discount is ~$466)
    -dents easy
    +better fit and finish
    +no hood pins needed
+no cracking concerns in the winter

^^^^^^^^^ I agree...but I don't know about "-ricey if not painted especially on a non-black car".........If u have a nice set-up or nice way of combining carbon fiber piceses then it might not look that bad...then again cf on silver is over done.....and also I don't think ALL cabon fiber hoods come hood pin ready...or do they???..

well i was in your same situation and i went with the carbon fiber... mainly cuz it was cheaper and it was uhhhh carbon fiber... stock hood is much lighter though in comparison and also doesn't fit the greatest... but i do get compliments from porsche owners though (1 to be exact)... it just gets a lot of attention period... oh and my car is black, thats another thing

hood pins are recommended by seibon but it is a use at own risk kinda deal is what Ive heard.
