You can do it online, actually, and I think they accept applications through 7pm Thats what I did, and I never had to talk to anyone, or get phone calls, or go anywhere.
Sorry to hear this, Bill. I'll keep my eyes pealed, for both you and Tony (although Tony's been pretty damn aggressive at finding a new job).
Sorry to hear. My wife is still not working 1 year 2 months and counting, it's tough out there. Best of luck to everyone in this situation.
Yep, sure do http://www.uimn.org/ And you can go on and request your benefits every week, it's really nice.
I filed for mine and I claim on Monday already. Like Steph said, its all online and VERY easy. I hope I dont have to use it for more than a week or 2. Like Brian said, I've been hitting the job market like crazy. already had some offers, but am holding out for the perfect job. Anyway, want to hang out one day next week? I got time!
I got some time too... just not a lot of extra cash since we just bought this house. great timing world... lol I am bummed I dont have a job but it is for the best all in all. they wont accept apps online anymore today, as far as I could see but the twins game is about to start so I have to watch that.
The best thing that ever happened to me in terms of work was getting laid off from Ameriprise. I had no idea just how much my job was affecting everything around me - home life, stress level, I'm much happier now. The greatest feeling in the world is not giving a **** about things that actually ARE trivial and petty.
I am open for a "work is for losers lunch". My unemployment is getting down there. I think I have about 5-6 weeks left before I have to re-apply. I am finally hitting the stir-crazy stage. Russ
being at school full time (which isnt really full time IMO) and having a fair amount of free time compared to my old job I am going stir crazy... I am glad I got school at least to occupy me... Sorry to hear this for you guys...
you shouldn't have to do anything to re-apply i'm on my umm third or fourth extension. All they do is send you something in the mail saying your benefits are extended from xx date to xx date. Ive been laid of since Jan.
