Hey guys... been awhile. Hope all is well.

We are working on something for Subaru that involves showcasing a car with a ton of miles.

It focuses on the speedometer/odometer of the vehicle... essentially showcasing the miles the vehicle has traversed.

Our concept involves a car with mileage over the 300,000 mark.

Does anyone have anything like that, Chuck, Martin?

If you could, post up a shot of your speedometer/odometer, list your mileage/location/vehicle

Ideally we are looking for someone who we could meet locally and have a professional photographer take a picture of your odometer.

    Questions? Post em up.

    Thanks!

I know some Honda guys who'll play with their Odometer, don't ask why.
They'll turn it back and forth, infact, they did that for my new motor.

Why not just PhotoShop one ? It's not like there's ever any truth in advertising, anyway.

<Straps on asbestos undies and waits for Chris and Zak to get *really* uppity >

we don't have any really high mileage cars anymore. While my engine has about 265k on it, the body/dash only reads 193k. my parents' have both moved on to pretty low mileage subies.

I probably still have the gauge cluster from the legacy that had ~235k on it when we parted it out. and my blue wagon had a similar number of miles on it when I sold it, I don't actually have the car anymore, but I probably have a picture of the cluster.

There's a legacy near my girlfriend's house that's in pretty rough shape (I bet there's only a couple square feet of total body that doesn't have rust on it), maybe I'll stop and get the scoop.

you should post it up on www.ultimatesubaru.org, I believe MilesFox lives in Madison these days, I can't keep track what he drives on any given day, but pretty good chance that it's got a bazillion miles, and is mostly held together with bailing twine  and there are other guys in the midwest, although the Iowa group are all pretty low mileage (it's Iowa, the salt is worse than here).

But you could call her and ask her if she might be interested. If she says no, you don't bug her again. If she says yes, pass her Chris' number. What harm can that be, really ?

Subarus have a reputation for reliability. They should showcase a car that reached high miles with only regular maintenance and repairs. Somehow I don't think the caveat "stock trans, new motor" is what the ad wants to get across...

We have a regular customer that comes to out shop with a 93 Legacy 2wd sedan with over 300k on it. I can try to get a hold of him. The thing runs pretty good, still original auto trans and motor
