So the head gaskets have been seeping now that it's gotten cold on my XT. Car runs good but when you shut it off it seeps antifreeze in and when you restart it pumps out a white sweet smelling cloud. The other day there was no wind and I fired it up at a gas station and the cluod just hung there. Was funny to watch, it just wouldn't go away...

Anyway pulled the heads off and they went into A&K Machine in Coon Rapids. Both heads warped and the motor has never been even close to over heating since I've owned it. Took 3 passes on each head to get them flat again. So what causes this to happen???

Hope to be back on the road this weekend with it so I can park the SVX for the winter.

    Yeah

I knew it was common but why? I have another XT at home for my son that has the same issues and my first car that got me into Subaru's was a 4dr GL with bad heads. How do they get warped if it hasn't over heated? Do the bolts pull out after awhile in the heads or stretch?
