These days I've been getting lots and lots of calls from them even though I told them to delete my number from their calling list like 5 times. So I decided to play with them. I know they're just doing their job, thats why I want to be a customer. They mostly would call and wake me up like 8 in the morning which I thought its somebody trying to call me, which pisses my off A LOT. So I decided that I want their Auto warrenty. Call #1: They asked for yr, make and model of my car. I told them 93 Nissan Skyline GTR. He check and came back to me a few mins and said he'll transfer me to a Nissan Special(model not in their system). I just hung up during the transfer. Call #2: They asked for yr, make and model of my car. I told them I got a 89 Geo Metro. Guy asked for mileage. I told him "It almost got 300k miles and its still running". Dude said they can only give warrenty to vehicles under 175k miles. "I'll remove your number from our calling list" saids dude. I said, "yea, good idea". (since this one its been like a week now, no calls from them so far) My friends story: They asked for yr, make and model of his car. He starts asking dumb questions. For example, "Does your warrenty cover my car if I hit & run a vehicle? Does it cover if I got drunk and roll over my car? Does it cover my seats if I got nasty stains on it?". Mostly they hung up.
I got one of these calls a month or so ago. I thought it was weird cause I am on the do not call list. I just said "Go away." and hung up. Maybe I should have told them I want a 20k insurance policy on my '95 impreza with 183k miles that I have disassembled and reassembled 2 or 3 times, and that I have a big box of parts that were extra from when I reassembled it.
FYI these calls really have nothing to do with auto warranties. They sell you one and disappear. The numbers are being spoofed to look like number from the US but a lot of the comments on 800notes.com think these people are operating from Canada or the Caribbean. When you're messing with them about cars they really don't care and they'll hang up if they think you're toying with them most of the time. They'll call everyone until they find those few suckers who will give them money. If they said they will take your number off the list or you try the automated thing to do it they'll just call you again a few weeks later. I tried to go ahead and buy an extended warranty from them on my Amex Gold because I knew if I called Amex and told them it was a scam they'd not only remove the charge from my card but they'd also go after those people like they stole millions from them. But of course the scammers don't accept American Express
