Hey guys and gals I am wondering if any of you have been on the roads today? I am in moorehead and there is about 4 inches of snow on the ground. I have my summer tires on so I am just wondering what kind of a drive a am facing to get back home. I will be coming down 94. thanks for the help Bill
actually, more like south of alexandria---that looks to be the line of where 32 degrees is at... looks like it might be working its way south though too, from the rain cooled air. the sooner you drive the better probably.
I was driving all around St. Cloud and back down to the cities from early this morning until early afternoon and it was raining pretty hard. Things seem to be slowing down now and roads are not icy. There is a lot of water though, we hydroplaned briefly a couple times on 494. :eek4:
vorgto, we got an incredible thunderstorm down here over the past two days. The thunder is nuts. The only problem is that since we're on the ocean, it just comes in, makes a hell of a racket, dumps rain for about an hour, and then boom, its gone.
WTF. Should have said something, I'd love to actually meet someone on this board. Also, I was out (work today) on my RE92A's and it wasn't terrible, but I would say pretty sketchy for a summer tire.
well, I made it one piece. from moorehead to dover it was just wet and slushy, then from dover to 25 miles past fergus falls (from moorehead) the road was honest to god a sheet of ice. Traffic was going so damn slow we were going up a long hill and I seriously started to wonder if I was going to lose momentum and not make it up the hill. just after the roads went to crap a toyota land cruser passed me like I was sitting on the sholder, I stated "I hope you go in the ditch with out harming anyone" 10 miles later, he was in the ditch driving around looking to find a place to get back on the road. anyways, I made it, thanks for the help and info guys.
YES! It's thundering and lightninging and there are lots of fat droplets falling from the sky. Well .. not lots, but it's coming.
Was lots of rain between Fergus Falls -> Alexandria when I was out today, around 7pm ... entire rest of my route (alex, back up to detroit lakes, back to fargo) was all rain. Quite fun, really... cept for the panel van.
Looks like a band of weather is heading in our way, snow is moving into the far western Dakotas atm. I like to observe the weather.. and love thunder and lightning!
