We will start the rotation again soon. For the sake of being simple, we will do Stouts again this week. New venue to try next week! I will be showing late tonight, if at all. But I will get everything set up like usual.
I find it to be much easier and more friendly to most when the meets are at one place. Much like last year when we all gathered at Old Chicago on Tuesdays. Depends on what happens this afternoon. I might be in attendance tonight.
Well yes, however the idea is to have maybe two spots or find a better centralized spot. The whole idea is getting more than just the few regulars that show. Reach out to the other areas.
I expect you to be there so I can buy you a beer and then proceed to take advantage of your hairy places.
Well...I'm thinking one of the alternative locations. Are more people interested in going down south or west towards the maple grove area?
If people are ok with southern, I was thinking of Poor Richard's Commonhouse. perfect for a bunch of Subaru owners.
@Neil Wise, if you want a bit more "central" western location, Kips would work pretty well. It's roughly 394 and 169. http://www.kipspub.com
@clajiness - Not sure if you are a beer drinker or not but do they have a craft beer selection? if so how is it?
@tehfuzz Think Irish pub with a few seasonal selections. I'm probably the wrong guy to ask though since I always drink Smithwicks when I'm there.
There is also the new new Bohemia in golden valley. It just opened maybe a week or two ago. I know I have not made any winter meets but could I suggest surly's tap room? Have not been there but figured it could be a roaring good time!
is that the bratwurst place? if yes, then nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo How about something like Chatterbox Pub? They're in S.Mpls and St.Paul.
Chatterbox is going to be a loooooong haul for a lot of the regulars. Myself included. Plus (personal opinion) the hipster crowd makes me want to get in a bar fight. And the beer is pretty bad. Just my .02. For now, let's get back on track. Between the two options listed in the vote. Those are tonight's options.
@Sjogun you gonna throw your vote in? Poor Richards is right near your work, we can drop by there tonight after you fix my car to prevent it from exploding
Depends how much stuff Sjogun has to rip off to get at the fuel hose clamps I guess, I'm hoping it's just the A/C compressor
Typical GD subaru fuel leaks under the intake manifold where the rubber lines are clamped to the hard lines. He fixed the passenger side for me a while back but it was still smelling strongly of gas - yesterday I noticed one of the drivers side ones was leaking badly enough to cause a few drips of fuel per second, the engine valley had collected a nice sized pool of gas Take your pick - it's dang cold outside and his shop is nice and toasty, I'm lazy and he's a better mechanic, he has access to way more tools and can recharge the A/C system if it needs to be disconnected, because I feel like it, ???
I'd be down for going after(poor Richard's). I'm pretty sure I'll be able to get to that line by just moving the compressor out of the way.
Speaking of fuel smell repair....my WRX is in your shop right now for the same fuel smell deal, hopefully covered under a SOA "good will" dealie. That and the valve clearance check. @Nhibbs so my engine wont blow up anytime soon.
