Everytime when I start going from a stop and take a turn I hear this clunking sound in the back. I think its my shocks but not real sure. Cars still under warrenty, but I can't figure out what it really is.

What mine does is when you back up anytime(straight, turning) of the day it will make a click noise. Also after backing up it will also do a click when going forward just when the vehicle starts to move. Took it in to WB subaru. They found nothing wrong. They did hear the noise but they told me that there was nothing wrong, nothing is loose or at least i should not worry about. I think it is coming from the rear brake pads as they do or could move when the tires are rotated fore and aft. Lots of newer honda with rear disc brakes do this also. The click does not bother me anymore at this time. I am also not upset at WB suby for not finding the issue.

OOhh, I'mma report you to SOA and tell them you were launching your car, dumping your clutch at 6500rpm and pulling the ebrake on hard corners trying to drift

    Probably rear struts going out.

Only when you turn after a stop? Might check rear swaybar endlinks first. It could be the brake pads releasing too no? If its not a normal rear diff sound I'd start by looking at the small things like endlinks and torque specs on the axle nuts, then have the struts checked. Does it clunk under any other conditions?

if you installed springs in your car try tightening the piston shaft bolt more, most people don't tighten it all the way down to the flange and it'll clunk.

I have a clunking noise coming from the rear when rolling to a stop or just barely starting to go from a stop.

    Diagnosis: struts

Is this an STi? Is your DCCD in 50/50?

I know there is a brake pad shim kit for the STi's but i'm thinking it's for the fronts and not the rears. Have you had them serviced recently or at all?

My vote is brake pad slap... get a new hardware kit for it... see if that fixes it...
