As it appears I have totaled my car, no it's not going to buff right out. I'll leave out and detail for now. I ended up upside down in the oppisite lane of traffic, luckily I was wearing my seat belt, and I'd say I'm 95% good as of today, maybe a bit of soreness. I'm glad the WRX has a good safe design.
So if anyone got caught up in traffic yesterday going south on 35, yeah sorry about that.

Doesn't look like we'll end up replace it was a Suby either, I need something has has the capacity to tow my boat which is around 3,000 pounds, which has the ability, but the price doesn't make it appear as a good option. At this point I'm leaning towards either a Rav4 an Fj Cruiser or a Honda Pilot, it'll depend more at this point what the wife is going to like more.

For the vultures, overall short of running a stage 2 set-up, there not much of anything on the car part worthy, haven't talked with the insurance about buying it back. I'll take my stereo out, and that's about it for goodies. Sadly there is a nice DP on the car, I think the axel back got a banged up a bit.

I'll get a pic or two later.

If the insurance doesn't mind, I'd love to bring some tools out to the location and remove the tranny, diff, axles, shift linkage and driveshaft...oh and the brakes.

Don't get me wrong, I like cheap parts too.

Tribeca's are too much for too little if I were to spend 30K that would leave a lot of options open. Mainly I don't think I need to spend that much to do what I want to do.

    Thanks for the well wishes

    I did this about 1pm.

Firt off glad to hear you are ok. The GD design is a very safe one, with the insanely tough B pillar. Its a good thing you were in a suby, not a kia....

would a FXT work for towing 3k? that could be fun....

I was alone, wife and baby are good as ever, both happy to see me come home in one piece. The car is certainly a tough car, it looks bad, I can't believe short of little minor soreness I'm fine, I'm sure I'm less sore than I'd be if I played tennis for an hour yesterday.

It was nice to see lots of people stop and offer help, One guy was nice enough to grab a couple bandaids and a cleaning wipe for a little blood I had on my knees, everyone was asking to make sure no one else was in the car.

I got to pay back a little today to someone who actually stop and helped direct traffic for me yesterday, I seen them sitting road side, I lent them a tire iron to change a flat tire, since he didnt have one in the car today, and we got to talking a little found out he helped direct traffic for my wreck.

A FXT is only rated for 2400, my boat is atleast 3K, I'm sure it has the power, but I bet it would be boosting a ton under normal towing. Braking would also be an issue. I love Subaru's sadly this just don't make something with a decent price that fits my needs, Again Tribeca's are nice, just a little spendy.

FJ cruiser is nice, but if you have a 3k lbs boat you need something that tows ~5k there are a lot cheaper options. Unless you have some sort of insane aluminum carbon fiber boat trailer... then get an 06WRX wagon.

Thanks for the good wishes, really wasn't too bad of a ride, some say it all happens in slow motion, well it seemed aweful quick to me.

Towing isn't a major concern of the new ride, but it is a requirement, we do have an f-150 right now, so that will do 99% of the towing on any given day with that, this is a more of a incase something was wrong with the truck or something, it's pretty much pointless to me to have another car or truck that can't tow the boat.

Towing was actually a major reason I bought the WRX in the first place, Yeah I towed our boat (different boat back then 1000 pounds or so) quite a few times with it, it did the job, you took it easy and you were just fine.

Test drove a couple toyota's today, we like the Highlander a bunch, got a a few more brands and models to look at before we get ready to actually buy something. I found out the Fj will actually tow 5K, but honestly it suck for a familymobile.

Body feels good, I still feel stupid, probably will for quite sometime.

Have you considered anything from the Nissan family for towing? I'm a big fan of the Nissans especially having sold them for a few years. I would check them out also. If you like that short wheelbase type of 4x4 then I would suggest an Xterra (4.0V6 270HP) or if you like more of a family mobile then check into a Pathfinder...same engine and transmission but it does have IRS which gives a smooth ride.

get teh FJ cruiser. I am a big land cruiser fan, they're indestructable. I sold my LC80 land cruiser with 250k miles on it, absolutely nothing was wrong with it. Saw it on the road a few years ago it had 400k miles on it, still looked fine.

glad to hear ur in one piece.
May i recommend the Acura RDX. I would think it should well serve ur purpose and u'll stay within the 4cyl turbo world...well sort of.
I test drove that car with technology pkg and was very impressed. If only that drive train was available in the TSX or TL.

i'll take my recommendation of the RDX back. Its towing capacity is only 1500 lbs.
Too bad cuz it sure is a sweet interior and a pretty decent performing engine.
