Hey everybody!! It's Erik from the rallycrosses. Just thought I'd stop in and say hi. I've lurked around here for far too long. Time for me to make an account and start posting. For those that don't know me, I don't actually own a Subaru right now. I used to own an old Brat the I tried (I emphasize "tried") to destroy it in a gravel pit but was not completely successful in my efforts. It still drove with it's one gimp leg, a split floorboard and completely busted rear shocks. It was fun though!! I run around with all those crazy rally and rallycross people. You know, those wierdos that sit out in the middle of the cold, rainy or snowy woods and watch cars go flying by. Well, just thought I'd say :wavey: . I know there's a bunch of you guys I'll be seeing on saturday at the SCCA LoL awards banquet. It's only a few days away. And remember, we have the rallycross planning meeting at 3pm at the banquet location (DeGidio's Restaurant in St. Paul) open to anyone that wants to come out there. -Erik D
Eric, Welcome to the forum! I moved you from the off topic to the General discussion thread because this is where the "Newbies introduce yourself here" thread is, and this one is along those lines. Welcome! -Ted
Cool! thanks! Yeah, I tried posting in the intro thread and something got messed up and it didn't post. Sorry about that. So how's it been going Ted? Any chance you might come out to any rallycrosses this next season? We miss you out there!
Welcome. I've wanted to attend a rallycross, but my hotrod isn't really conducive to that. Once I get everything settled in the new shell, I can make my beater a snow/dirt champion.
welcome to MNSubaru Erik. So what car do you drive during the rally-x's? I'm Dave, one of the MNSubaru/MNSOC officers that cooks up the hot dogs at the events:yumyum:
So the hotdogs are cooked?? I always thought they were just warmed up with a bit of crispy on the outside. Welcome Erik. Russ
Thanks guys. Yeah, I'm THAT guy. I also drive the MR2. Yeah Dave, that has been so great having the hotdogs out there. Especially since it goes to charity. Thank you for all the work on that. Pid- You could always come out and watch/volunteer at the events until you get the car ready. We always appreciate a few extra sets of hands out there. And it'll give you the itch that much faster!! I can't wait for saturday!! See you all there.
Awww. You miss my shenanigans??? I've been wondering that myself. I sold my GTI years ago when I bought my house and don't have room to work on and store a car anymore - let alone any time to do anything to it. I would like to try to get out and pick cones and just help out but it always seems like there is something on the calendar that the wife won't let me skip. When does the 09 calendar come out - or is it already?
The planning meeting is on Saturday, right before the LoL banquet. We hope to set our calendar for 2009 then.
