Thursday I had an algorithm analysis final at 8am... right afer it we started our trek... Shop at 930: Dually is ready to go: Stop at the burger time: mmmmm....heartattackhnoes:: Stop at Hoosier distributor to get some drag radials for Jason's 06 si: Hopkins Firestone... we needed to get some 22" asanti wheels mounted and balanced: downtown, but where are we going??? :dunno: mmm... landrover: here it is with it's friends: omg outside:eek4:: Shane/Dually/Lotus comparison pic::hsugh: Gauge Cluster: In the burnsville shop:
2 hours of ownership...already taking off the rear view mirror:laugh: Shane had to stop at the mall of america and get some new puma kicks so that he could actually drive it...the pedals are that close: Quick night shot: We drove it around downtown a bit, stopped at bobby and steves for some gas and food... while we were inside I snapped a shot of what happened:laugh::laugh: Ready to go home in the rain: On the road... It made it:eek4:: Good to be home: Jason/Lotus comparison pic and Shane trying to get out of his car:hsugh:  :
Whoa! thats a HAWT car! i have always had a thing for those elise/exiges. to hawt for teh roads. what are you guys gona do to it?
probably race it like it was designed to do :dunno: oh and there is already a bottle waiting for it too:hsugh:
Shane, the owner of tintmasters owns the exige. It will be doing autox and track days. I'm sure it will end up at the drag strip a few times, but thats what the sti's job is.
We would have been at firestone but he had some things that had to get done friday up here so we couldn't stay. I would also recommend one to everyone...they make great daily drivers, especially with the track pack suspension.:hsugh:
Still breaking it in... he took it down to south dakota today to watch some drift event. So it should be done after that. Even keeping it under 4k it goes alright because it doesn't weigh anything. It's a race car... and you know it is because there are two parts to the maitence manual, either street driven or competition use. Tranny is sooo smooth... even puts the sti 6spd to shame.
I feel like I'm whoring this thread but I need to get my post count up... Here is the details of the track pack, which is only available for the exige: This one came with A/C... its $250 to remove it from the factory.
:werd:, The manager of all the burger times owns that supercharged saleen that was in one of the other threads.
Is this the same one i see blow up and down audobon in chan now and again when im working at the shop? BIIIG thumbs up, the sound is just amazing... I hear it and by the time i can turn my head fast enough i catch a glimpse of something orange before its gone.
No this isn't that one... we just picked it up from the dealership 2 days ago. As far as I know this was the first exige that the dealership sold. :dunno:
Exige up on the lift for an oil change: Underneath...it's flat:eek4:: The new tinting mascot, coney: :coolugh:
%$#@!%$#@!%$#@!%$#@!, how stressfull was it the first time on the lift? i'd would have been afraid about the diffusor thing.
That chrome orange color is T3H SCHW1NG! I saw an Elise that color here in Rochester last summer and almost got whiplash. Luckily I spotted it in the parking lot later and got a good look at her. Noice! Soooo low&cute&tiny, you KNOW it corners like a go-kart. I'm not too crazy about the Exige's dark-colored trim pieces; aesthetics-wise, the Elise looks cleaner to me. But I'd still take one if someone accidentally left it in my garage =)
The few of you that are bugeyed about the price on this thing need to realize that this isn't some communter car that you slam down the 1/4mile. This is a finesse car. It is made to stomp a racetrack to death. And it is blisteringly efficient at it.
They must tint a whole hell of a lot of windows to be driving a car like that. For the same price I would take the Cayman S, though. And be able to drive a decent distance without blowing my kidneys out.
We do tint alot of windows, houses... Cars... Businesses....... but that is just a portion of what we do. We are very busy with performance work and apperance accessories. You name it, we do it. Except for painting and body work. Subaru's are keeping me very busy. The Cayman is nice. I looked at those. I wanted a more raw "race car" I always have the STi, Type R, Magnum, Dually, R1 and CRF 50:fiddy: for any other type of driving I want to do. Now SteveO has me looking at the New Challengers....... Damnit Steve.
Ok. I can understand now. The Lotus is definetly a "raw" car. I drove the Cayman S back in Sept. at a education/training event PCNA invited our agency to. The car is awesome. But it is remarkably refined, you can cruise down the street and forget you are driving in a car that is capable of destroying most cars on the street, handling wise. Except for all the stares you get from passer-byers--which I am sure you get in the Exige also. Some pics from our event: Now just picture 35 identical Cayman S models driving down the back roads and highways of Atlanta, in a car that wasn't available to the public for 4 more months. My whohas are still swollen.
i got to drive a lotus elise on sunday. i gotta be honest, when i got out of the car from the autocross run, i was giggiling like an idiot and had the biggest grin on my face. i didn't push it to the limits, being that i have very little expeirence with rwd and i don't want to spin a 40k car in a lot the size of a postage stamp. The damn thing is like a go kart. you turn the wheel and it just goes where you want it too.. throttle be damned, it just goes. i was honestly supprised by the size of the steering wheel and the sheer weight of the steering. and i totally understand the shoe thing. i wasn't taking sunday's novice school too seriously, so i wore my street shoes all day. when i climbed in the lotus, i realized how much of a hard time driving was going to be! my shoes were about .000001 mm smaller than the gap between the brake pedal and the support.
can you get any shots of the engine? and also, arent you worried about holey pistons with the bottle?
