Although Tom couldn't come with because he has joined the Nitrous Circuit, and can't hang out with us small time recreational riders... It was still a great time.
Sweet. love quads. My brother owns this place: www.holeshotdesigns.com He builds all kinds of crazy quads, sand/dirt/mud. Quads are so much fun. *Link fixt
I have a job, for now ... I wouldn't buy a wheel chair though. Maybe when I get old and can't balance, that's why I plan on buying a KTM. Why not get the best when you've been off the dirt for two years ???
You can't afford a pot to piss in, so I'll believe you got a KTM when you show up with it. I've already had a KTM.
Grizzleys are fun to play around on in the woods. Get it running, we'll probably be going again soon enough.
yeah im gonna talk to my buddy and see if i let him borrow the jixxer if he'll let me borrow his quad for a day!
post up when you guys are going next time! i might be able to get my friend to go with. is it a one day thing? usually when we go, we camp out that night and wheel sunday a lil before we head back
Sweet. Perhaps I'll have to tag along next time, assuming my tour bus isn't stopping at the next Nitro stop. Here's what I did yesterday -- they decided to pile up mounds of dirt and then dig out 2-3' deep holes right after the piles just before the scoring checkpoint: http://picasaweb.google.com/MNDirtGirl/BrunoHareScramble#5243466121444671186 http://picasaweb.google.com/MNDirtGirl/BrunoHareScramble#
Ben and I may be going again on saturday. Depends on if I get my rear carrier bearings installed or not. I have to wait on an O-ring from Hitching Post. If we go, I think we're just going down to the Fat Trax sandpit in Faribault. Fun times, and closer than Willow River.
Brian / Ben - Not sure if you've seen this, but..... http://www.dnr.state.mn.us/ohv/map.html Here's all of the state riding areas.
I went and got prices and I have my eyes set on a 300 XC-W it is a grand less than the 450 and well I've never owned a 2 stroke what better time than now ... well this spring.
Good choice. The 300 hunny is a pretty popular bike with the woods guys. The thing is a complete beast. Don't discount the 200 & 250s, though. My 200 can be a handful at times.
http://www.dnr.state.mn.us/ohv/trail_detail.html?id=14 I typically ride in this area although not on the Martineau, there are too many trails up there. Otherwise we hit up the Cable/Hayward area (most be plated to have fun there IMO) and the St Croix area. The Gandy Dancer is a blast a 85-90, but only for a while then you get tired of it real fast just like on a sled.
Yeah but the 250 is not a "true" woods motor, I like the idea of being able to lug that 300 down to a near stop and still have a bottom end to get out of any situation.
xt FTW you take that, Ill take the sportsman it will be just like old times when we would cuddle togather in the camper and whisper softly in each others ears....
lmao! Go tell that to the majority of pros who run 200s and 250s in the GNCCs & the OMA harescramble circuit. Same goes for the national enduro series. My 200 lugs just fine in most situations. I don't think you realize how low of gearing these bikes (XC & XC-W) have.
He hasn't ridden a KTM Tom, you'll have to excuse him. My 250 EXC had awesome low end, and a 94mph top. Trail Tech computer FTW!
You had a TT on that bike? Sweet! My "computer" consists of a $11.95 digital wristwatch from Wal-Mart stuck on the bars, lol.
What all can you run on the Willow River trails? Is it just bikes and quads, or could you do OHVs too?
You run anything on about 1/3 of the trails, including on highway vehicles. ATV's and dirt bike's on everything. And OHV's on about 2/3 of the trails.
