I thought it would be nice to share.... In July this year i upgraded from a 2000 6 -Speed Celica GTS to a WRB 04 STi... It was a random decision that i made in the summer and it worked out perfect. So im proud to be part of the SUBARU family
Nothing really car related but I lost 20-25 lbs which I'm quite happy about. Oh yeah, 5 year wedding anniversary was this year which by todays standard is pretty good. And I think shes gonna keep me around awhile longer.
stopped living paycheck to paycheck and paid 6K of my 10K in credit card debt (rest should be off by the end of the year!!!)
Tackled life with 1/4 of my typical income...thank you ecomony!!! haven't been this broken since 1995. :hsugh: However, income and economy is bouncing back for me so I'm happy!!!!! SURVIVED my 1st year in rally!!! Gained a good following of repeat business for repair/upgrade work. Now a rock star with a number of mini-cooper owns as I guess I'm the Mini Cooper coilover suspension guru.:laugh::laugh: Made it to my "official" 5 year plan....moving back to Colorado, this time I'm buying a home with a huge garage and lots of land.
So I have 5 years to train a replacement, huh? built a rally car. raced a rally car. crashed a rally car. fixed a rally car. raced a rally car. rolled a rally car. fixed a rally car. raced a rally car. crashed a rally car. fixed a rally car. raced a rally car. started re-building rally car for a different class. in that order.
Rally-x at Dave's place? after a good road trip though ;-) I graduated college in Dec. of 08 (close enough to this year for me). I had a fantastic internship at a local company which gave me tons of experience in my field of study. I doubled the HP/TQ of my car, with a ton of help from Chux. I did a week long back country trip in Glacier National Park. And some more. Best thing yet, is that there is nothing I regret; so far.
We had our 2nd kid. I finished replacing the last of the old flooring in our house. Exceeded my sales goals at work despite the economy. Got paid to fish. 1/3 winner of a COTM contest. Learned how to brew beer.
I have kind of learned to manage money. I probably wouldn't have but I took a 50% pay cut this year I was forced to. Just happy to still have a job and some green left between checks. I bought a 06 sonata with low miles for trips this year. As far as the subi goes I went from stock to stage 2 and I have everything to do a turbo swap except time and a heated garage.
Almost everything in l4d save one ... oh wait, this is REAL LIFE. Silly me. I passed another year with Jason, and we're approaching the 3rd anniversary here in a few months. Put an exhaust onto my car so it has the RUBLEZ .. I'll think of something else, I'm sure of it
09' WRX and my first new car.... actually my first car that is worth more than 5K. Actually my first car that has less than 100,000 miles on it and the wear to show. AAP -> no one knows what this is, but it is a test with a 40% pass rate. legal banking stuff... 8 months to study... BLAH! started (early 09) and continue to teach snowboard lessons, ride every week atleast once, and just have fun.
Finished my Subaru project (turbo, exhaust, suspension), found a better paying job and closer to home, and now trying to all a little one to our family.
Graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Business Admin (4 years of college, a degree, and still work part-time at Autozone, not to happy bout that). Moved in with the GF (not an achievement, would rather not have but we are broke enough, let alone having to live apart) Sold my beater crx (saddest day in my life when having to do with cars). Got my integra running and traded it off for a Ruckus, lol. Bought a Subaru (after months and months of searching), started modding my subaru (while still not touching my project crx, I gotta get that **** done... 1 year without even touching the thing).

Lost 18 lbs, swapped my 23 yr old house for a 4 yr old model, put down some decent dyno numbers, made some good friends, am going to be a grandpa, and am closing in on 100k miles with United.
Made it through another happy year with the GF. Started, finished and revised a few projects at work. Finished putting up walls in the garage (thanks to help from the GF's dad). Bought my dream car. Stayed healthy, positive, and happy.

within the last year bought the xt6 got promoted to ASSasitant MANager fixed the 4runner joined the Ziptie Rally Team wheeled the 4runner (FINALLY. I've only owned it for 3 years!!) broke the 4runner wrecked the xt6 swapped the Frankenwagon essentially back to stock still working on final details to replace it :yumyum: also helped make a few cars very badass (2 of them Martin's!). not all good....but not all bad either.
Joined MNSubaru, after buying Sonja almost a year ago. Made alot of awesome friends that just so happen to drive Subaru's. Entered my first ever "official" race, and placed 3rd in SA and 15th overall (but then went downhill from there, but still had a blast!) Helped some friends through tough times. Found out living on your own is tough financially, but also worth it at times, if only for walking around in your boxers without a care in the world. Rode the bike ALOT, and realized I need something a bit larger and more powerful next year.
Got dumped by my then-fiancé Got a great workout routine going & gained 10 lbs of muscle Went on roughly 20 dates throughout the year (maybe more) Went Stage 2 with the WRX & bought new tires Bought some used summer wheels (another project!) Tried playing with a high-profile great-money cover band for a few months and didn't like it (now I know) Took a road trip by myself to Colorado & all the way up Pike's Peak Moved to St. Paul with 3 people I didn't know before Sept Kept my credit card debt essentially where it was at the start of the year (not really a good thing) Wrote a LOT of music, including most of my third solo album, which will be out by 2010 AND Finally managed to reduce my work week from 7 to 6 days / wk without losing income (yes, I'm a musician).
during 2009: 10 year wedding aniversary finished my bachelors degree bought a WRX, the car I've wanted for 7 years
