So I do all my bills online and well I went to go check and make sure I had money for my car payment. Well I sign in and I see my balance of $-380, I'm like WTF!!! So I call my banks 24 hour helpline and they said that the check I had just put in was deemed "non sufficient funds". Keep in mind this was a paycheck, although it is slow at the company I am currently working for they needed the man power but hired me through a temp agency. Also I was first told I would get my checks every Wednesday, I got mine last week Friday/Saturday. It is Friday night and still no check :( ... should I tell my employer that I want to be paid by them? Or is that too pushy considering the situation?

    Chet

Econotemp is what the number and check says but thats not who my employer said it would be.

*Update - my employer just called and said they will give me the money for the check and the overdraft fee's. Still not sure if I want to have them go through this temp agency ... I love the job but I need solid checks to pay my bills ya know?

afaik, the temp agency IS the one who is paying you - out of money they get from the company you are working for. So the real question is ... did the company pay THEIR bills on time?

I've had this happen before... with direct deposit! They had to give me a paper check, and that took 2 weeks >_< Still, really annoying.

go postal..then you can spend a few years in a comfy but small room, with internet, all the porn you can watch, a new girlfriend and most state of the art amenities ever needed... oh and not pay rent either ;)

yes-If chet went through a temp agency, the temp agency is paying his payroll.

Most of the time the temp agency bills the employer weekly and then paid one to two weeks later. The temp agency receiving their money on time from the employer should have NO EFFECT on the funds they have available to pay employees they have out on contract.

Someone failed big time here....I'd make sure they paid all your fees, etc...and starting looking for a another job asap!!!!!!

I don't think there is any need to search for another job, I just want to push being on their payroll. Also the company I work for said they would cover all the overdraft fee's.

And no Nathan I'm not going to resort to "going postal".

That's super cool they will cover your fees. However, this is a mark against you with your bank unless you make sure they note why this happened.

also, I recommended looking for another job for security reasons...covering your own butt. If they are a legit temp agency they have a contract covering your employment and your employer/job site would more than likley have to pay a ballon payment to the agency if you switched over to the employers payroll sooner than the contract called for. These ballon payments can range from 1000 to 5000. Employer may not opt to do it. just an fyi

Well I got an update on this if anyone cares. So far I think I have had three checks that did not go through. The temp company has taken care of all of that though.

Problem is I just can't take this hoping to get paid on time crap, but I am afraid to walk into my bosses office and demand what I want. If I had my family to back up my decision financially I would have no problem doing it but unfortunately I am too afraid to ask them also ... this really sucks and its hard to be happy with all this going on.
