What brand transmission/differential oil?

    I've been digging through as many old threads as i can find but info was all over the place. Does anyone have a go-to for gear lube on 02-07 wrx? My 07 is sitting at 132k and i was planning on running some blackstone laboratory samples of the fluids to get some idea of a future rebuild timeline

    So it turns out the "Super S" is now call "Extra S".

    I think the "Extra S" stuff actually got replaced by what Josh posted above. When I did a fluid flush on mine several years ago I went to the dealer asking for Extra S and that stuff was all they had. Said it had superceded the Extra S I guess.

    Correct. Extra S was discontinued many years ago.

    HPGO is what's available from Subaru, now. It's no better than most parts store 75w90.

    MOTUL is the good stuff. But I still live by the mantra that the best oil is new oil. I use supertech and change it more often.




    This is all ASSuming this is a manual transmission.

    Motul is gud. I found a small but noticeable improvement after switching trans oil to it
