Guidelines:  Can be anything you did with or to your subaru today, or recently, so if you couldnt get on to post it same day, its alright! It can be something that happened to your car that you felt like posting as well, there arent any strict limitations on what you can post, just keep it car related. Try to keep the banter to a minimum. Pictures can be posted in here, but keep them reasonable so people dont have to scroll through pages of the same thing. Feel free to comment about peoples posts, but if it turns into a conversation, just take it to PM's or toss a non-stickied thread up and chat about it there! Alright, enough rules! Lets hear about what you did to your subaru today!
Today, it was beat...hard. Cruised to Best Buy with the windows down. Grabbed some CD's...new Shinedown, Three Doors Down, and Tantric. My kind of summer weather today! WOT everyday.:yumyum:
this morning i went to the diy carwash(should have done it at home but i was close to the car wash) then i met up with a bunch of my buddies and cruised down to the MNSC mid summer meet in eden prarie, then we cruised back up to anoka and hung out at our usual spot in downtown anoka in the parking ramp, then went to Panda garden Buffet in andover, then a buddy and i switched cars to drive back to someones house, so he got to drive my wagon and i got to drive his s13 240sx with a sr20det. it was a good time! thats what i did today with my subie!
Fixed my boost leak! It was my turbo inlet hose, apparently a hose clamp was overtightened and snapped when I was messing around with my intercooler. It was hanging in there and finally let go. Got my rear diff drained, flushed, and topped off with some new Mobil 1. yum. Found out a lot of good stuff about our auto-hobby shop here on base too. We've got EVERYTHING, sand blasters, our own oil dump, 4 post lifts, a paint booth, the works. Its available weds-sunday all day, and is $2 an hour (or $12 max for the day) for a covered work space with a huge table an access to whatever tools you can fit in it. ::SWEEET::
I'm jealous Jack! Sounds like a nice hook up. Your subie should be totally pampered now...no excuses!
After I got off work I went to the ma's house for sunday supper and charged my a/c while I was there. Got it blowing 40 degrees. The hot hot days won't be so bad now!
Swapped the rear diff, changed one wheel bearing, put in a swaybar (there was none) and got owned by the two bolts on the bottom of the strut on the other side, cut off one of the ebrake cables, replaced the rear pads, hit the old rotors with a wizzy wheel, broke an allen wrench, and medicated with several barley pops. Damn my legs are sore. I don't turn like this too often.
Replaced the low-pressure hose on my AC system and recharged it. Now I just wait to see if it leaks out again. It was blowing nice cold air though I also ziptied my gas filler cap back on. That stupid tab was ruined while replacing the cap. :-/ I also replaced a clamp on my turbo inlet. Should be good to go now! Next project this week is to replace my front caliper bracket and slide pins. Mmmm, so fun.
Drove it down the block to McD to get a large Powerade and a parfait. Also, my son tried to grab the powerade and spilled all of it...not a good day for me.
well it seems like the thread is working, ha. I just ordered a pile-o-parts. Not expensive, but still. woot. I'm putting together a scotty's cocktail, and already bought the pennzoil synchromesh, so I ordered: 2 qts redline mt-90 1 qt redline LW shockproof then for fun bits I ordered a bunch of bushings. (while under my car today I noticed a lot of them were getting old), So I got: Whiteline Rear Support Lock bushings (for the rear diff arms) Perrin shifter bushings Prothane front swaybar bushing kit (20mm) I also have my AC tensioner assembly in the mail (hopefully bielke sent it out already), so I'll be putting that in soon.
Discovered my rear diff is leaking. Slowly, but it's leaking. I also discovered that mechanical rear diffs are expensive.
Drove 300 + miles around the cities yesterday and today looking for trailers... just got home from buying a 6x12 and yes the Forester pulls it loaded... same one as the one I have been using to move house
I swapped out my EGT gauge temp probe, and manage to jossle loose some of the gauge wiring (now they don't turn on ). Looks like I now have a short project for tomorrow after work. Any excuse I can have to be in the garage longer is good for me. Great idea for a thread pra4sno!
I didn't even touch the damn car today. I mountain biked for 4 straight hours today! Yesterday I drove around minneapolis getting pissed at all the road construction for about an hour or so. Then I drove it 387 miles round trip from EP to Grand Rapids and back. :hsugh:
Thought about and wished i had the STi to go for a cruise. But i did drive the wagon to work all hungover and feelin like poo this morning!
Went to work, went to dinner with my gf, taught my gf to drive stick, and then went home in it all in all I think the Subie enjoyed it self today!
Gave my Subie a fresh new Cocktail tranny fluid and drove to Walmart to spend some money on pretty much stuff that I dont use/need. Cruising with a bad headache from my own load music but can't resist it. No bass just tweeters and mids.
Dirty girl officially has a 5spd!! Also got front passengers side WRX suspension in!!! Tomorrow the other three? but first we need to go get a new axle...
With a little help from your friends Took mine out for its last AutoX event before it goes up for sale Stuart.
moved it about 10 feet out of the way to get my motorcycle out of the garage  i haven't driven it in about a week.
Signed it up for its first event, the rallyx next month... also got my SCCA membership Supposedly have a rear sway bar on the way, and waiting on Mr. Eklund to reply about getting some skid plates.
^I changed my rear diff fluid two days ago! Had a lot of questions from the truck guys at the workshop, "is that thing 4 wheel drive?" good times. was yours pretty nasty? I know mine was. I only had a little sludge on the magnet though, thank goodness.
